Re: Garden Planting and Harvesting
Got a good 21 inches of heavy wet snow here so it will be a while until it all melts off and I can get back into the garden and work beds. I got some done after the last snow so I guess if I can get another couple ready before the next one I'll be ready for planting. We usually use mothers day as th...

Re: My Biggest Complaint About MITD
Yes, 3-hours is a little short but what more could he get into the next hour if it was 4? I'm lucky as the Denver station KLz 560AM replays MITD over again so it is 6-hours of Art and they replay most of the week over the weekend which is great. Of course you can also time travel as I do to catch up...

Re: Shots fired Near Art Wednesday night
So far all is good. I am sure there is a ton more information but he and the local law are holding it close to the chest. I think we can be sure his neighbors will be on the look-out for any suspicious vehicles or activity. I'm on a little over 5-acres as he is and we do tend to watch each others ba...

Re: MITD With Art Bell & DEAD AIR!
I agree with caller stories. I think he is connecting with past guests this time around and with hope he will have caller stories next year.

Shots fired Near Art Wednesday night
Happened while live on the air so was carried on the Internet cast and the 42 radio stations carrying the program. Here is what Art said this morning. ++++ Ok, the Police just left for the second time and the Girls are asleep so here is what I can tell you, about 10:33 PT I got a text from m...

Cherry, glad you had a great harvest and plenty to store. We got hit by one-inch hail on Friday and it pretty much wiped out the garden. The deer had done a job on the tomatoes and most of the other crops. We have a Doe who seems to know her way around about anything you put out to keep them away an...

From my experience the vines don't really need to root as much as hold to something to keep spreading out. If they do take root all the better. With the lack of pollinators here it looks like it will be a bad crop season. Some are getting pollinated but I don't see all I have in years past. I have b...

Doka, if I could send this to you I sure would. Joke here is we have now moved to Seattle with all the rain and clouds. This Tuesday morning it is windy up to around 20MPH from the SE so we're seeing the lead edge of the storm system coming in from the Gulf although it is to turn east and not head t...

You're all way ahead of me. Just getting flowers on tomatoes and a few small ones are forming, saw the first yellow squash flower this morning. Everything else is still trying to figure out the weather. We get a nice day or two then back into cool and rain. Saturday and Sunday were nice and now on M...

Good old worm poop, best thing for the garden. :) Still have many beds too wet to work so it will be another week until I can get much done. Farmers reporting about 50% of crops lost due to the heavy rain or hail we have had so they hope to get a crop in over the next couple weeks and if not then pl...

Been putting cardboard down here and once it gets wet from the rain soaking thru it degrades enough to allow water to penetrate but really helps stop the weeds right up front and then the mulch has a good fighting chance. I also put down surplus carpet between the raised beds and that is really help...

Had another 0.36 inches of rain over night. At least we got mowing and some trimming done but lots more to do. Grass and weeds are growing like crazy and the big push now is to get everything tamed over a coupe acres so it dries out to keep the mosquitoes down. Garden beds should soon dry and I can ...

Too wet here to do anything int he garden. The seedlings have all had transplants to bigger pots waiting for the garden to dry enough to plant. The veggies under the hoops are doing OK but by this time it is usually set out the tomatoes and other plants then put over hoops. Problem is the rain seems...
