Pam?

Hey Guys, Pam doesn't show up in the top 100 of Team Art Bell anymore. Anyone know why she stopped crunching?

I put the voltage up as high as 1.425V and still kept crashi

I'm not sure it's the FSB and it's definately not thermal. What is the voltage on the RAM? Are you overclocking the ram? You should be able to take the FSB all the way to 360 comfortably on your MB with no ill effects providing the PSU can take the additional load. Sorry it took me so long to reply....

two Core 2 Duo's

Nice! If I could get myself to let my old FTP server go (2 - 1GHz processors) and replace it, I'd get another core2. The sentimental value is high, but the RAC is low on this thing. I had already planned on replacing it and I am waiting for the quad cores to come down to a reasonable price before I ...

Overclocking

I am sure at some point you'll have to go higher, especially on the processor. Just fractions of volt can make a big difference. Keep up the good work!

I got the wireless card back

Whew...I was about to send you a new wireless card thinking I led you down a path of thermal destruction... Keep working on it...it's worth it, I increased my Seti RAC by almost 900 on my E6600 by overclocking and the optimized client. Well, I just got a heap of new government IT projects to work on...

Eek! Peer pressure! I can't take it!

Pam, try taking it in baby steps... Try taking it in 2% increments. Don't forget to bump up the voltages slightly for the CPU, FSB and Memory. When overclocking, the PCI bus should remain stable if the voltage and frequency are not touched. I never overclock the PCI/AGP bus. Going above 35MHz on the...

Those guys getting those big overclocks are using 600 W and

Thanks for the info Pam. I have to admit, I am running a 600 watt power supply with my E6600. Yes, it can make a difference, but not much. Kill-a-watt tells me I am only using 22 more watts at my current 24% overclock. I am only using 210 watts while running Seti (inludes 2 sticks of 1 Gig Ram, 4 ha...

Cost to Coast AM

Hello Rocketman and Welcome to the forum. I believe I can speak for most of us here that we are all regular Coast listeners - however for no particular reason, we don't talk much about the show in this forum. No rules against it or anything...just geek-speak most of the time. Hey Pam. Nice, nice sys...

Kind of quiet in here....

Hey!!!! Why so quiet in the break room? The core2 duos have provided some amazing speeds for seti. They're also hyper over-clockable (new word?). I have a 2.4 GHz core2 Duo clocked to 3 GHz stable and the RAC is over 1800. I'll wait on the quads for the price to come down a little before testing... ...

Laptops and Optimized Clients

Good call Cruncher. I have an AMD64 3200 Laptop running Seti (when it is turned on) and it runs downright HOT with the Chicken optimization. No problems as of yet. I just got a new laptop (more for fun than work) that is a core duo 1.67 GHz. So far, I am pretty impressed. It ranks up there with Pent...
