Try pealing off as much of the label as you can by hand, then go at it with an old rag, 70% isopropyl alcohol, and a lot of elbow grease.
If that doesn't do the job, try windex.

I'm not much of a drinker but, if I'm buying it, it's usually Shiner Bock. I prefer a good dark beer. And the darker the better. Best dark beer i ever had was a German import. It was so darn good (and so long ago) I can't remember the name.
