Anybody as Crazy about Prey as Me?

I got to playing this game over and over just to make sure I found all the Art Bell broadcasts scattered throughout the game. I counted 8. Anyone find more? I hope this isn't spoily but here is my list: 1. George in Garland, TX 2. Scott 3. Alex in Lubbock, TX 4. Deputy in Carlsbad, NM 5. Keeper 6. T...

I guess this means the Seti "farm" of tomorrow could be a multi core processor computer with multiple video cards. :D I've been shying away from sli because I don't consider myself a gamer, maybe I should build an sli machine so I'll be ready for the GPU distributed computing. I bet Prey w...

Since BOINC isn't taking advantage of this but Folding does, does that mean we could boinc with our processor and fold with our GPU?

Let us know how that monster does for you, OK? I don't know if I could ever bring myself to spend $600 on a video card, but I'd love to hear about it.

I think you will be ok if you don't set it flat on the desktop. I tilted my laptops up so the air could circulate underneath better. I have run my Pentium M nonstop for four years that way. I had a Pentium 3 laptop that crashed a lot until I stood it on end and set a box fan next to it. I decided to...

Dang it, this reminds me of astronomy club. It never fails, when you gets a new telescope, there are cloudy nights for weeks on end. I sat up all night trying to install Linux on a Asus P5B. Guess what, the P965 chipset is a little too new and nobody seems to be able to install Linux on it. The one ...

You are probably right, Keith. I tried backing off the vcore to 1.30 V from 1.37 and am down to 55 deg C under load. I reseated the heatsink again but I don't think I had too much AS5 on there, there was a perfect layer with no gunk around the edges. I guess tomorrow's project will be to take it all...

So pam you have a AMD FX CPU thats going to be a wokhorse CPU. Well, I have to say, I haven't been as happy with it as with the Pentium D 960 on Seti. And I'm not impressed with the FX-60's numbers under Windows as I was under Linux. So I may not be activating Windows on this system. I just downloa...

Re: Hello Everyone

I have decided to start crunching seti@home again and hope I can help Team Art Bell kick some A$$. Pam Heinze I have tried E-mailing you but My messages get returned. Pam did you ever get your computers all hooked up? Hey, buddy! Welcome back. Maybe something is screwy with my isp, but I've sent yo...

I was just looking at ZipZoomFly CPU prices and marvelling at how low the prices of some really good processors are. Top Sellers Core 2 Duo E 6300 $193 Athlon 64 X2 3800 AM2 socket $148 Then I scrolled down the page and saw they still had Socket A Athlon XP's. Athlon XP 2000 $149 Athlon XP 2800 $189...

Prey

Anybody bought the game yet? I've been playing the demo. I found the Art Bell part, and got killed shortly thereafter, but that is in no way Art's fault.

It will be fun to see what it can do. With optimizations available, it might not be that bad. You might like to put Linux on it, and I think Ubuntu 6.06 is pretty good and the price is right. The high angle range stuff might take you days, but the average stuff might get done in a day or so. Since e...

Did you see how Daniel Schalma made an optimized client but kept it only for Seti.USA? That could not stand! Since I'm not smart enough to make an optimized client myself, and too squeamish to break the rules by distributing Crunch3r's apps myself the way some other guys were doing, I was happy to h...
