Thank you, Linnea. I appreciate that. I can only say that I am searching for the truth - if that leads to conspiracies or UFOs or quantum physics or hard science, it's all good. But I am a skeptic, and I'm afraid that isn't going to change anytime soon.

Smilies indeed
I've just spent a few minutes searching for "Obama conspiracy theories" to see how this one fits in - also to see if I can find any info on this one.
Some of the stuff is pretty far out there, terrorist bombings while a student at Columbia, gay affairs with disabled drug addicts in the back of a limousine, a secret girlfriend forced to leave the country, etc......
Then there is all the birther stuff - interesting how that one has gained so much traction as compared to these other conspiracy theories (for the record, I think he is a citizen).
In that respect, Joe does remind me of John Lear. Possibly reporting all that he hears - with little, or no evidence to support his claims. Let me be clear though, I mean no disrespect to either of them. I find both to be fascinating, and enjoy reading or listening to both of them as well. There is much truth in what Joe has to say, one just needs to find it between the lines. In this case, the lines are blurred by a lot of Obama stuff - I think that between the lines though, he's hot on a story about CIA involvement in operating the highest levels of our government - bingo, a topic that could prove fascinating in it's own right.

It tells me that they are impossible to prove as well. Right?

Let me rephrase myself: if it is impossible to refute the claims that I printed at the start of this thread BECAUSE THE MATERIAL THAT WOULD DECIDE THEIR TRUTH OR FALSITY HAS BEEN SEQUESTERED FROM THE PUBLIC, then what does this fact tell you, RIGHT THERE, huh?
"Fuggedah about it, Jake --- it's Chinatown!"
All I wanted to know was where he 'read' it and/or who 'told' him, as he indicated. I wasn't asking for 'proof.' Just a simple 'where'd you read/hear this?' so I could access the same information, and draw my own conclusion. Seemed a fair enough request, to me.
And BTW, I think MOST members of this forum are skeptics. We wouldn't even BE here otherwise, I think. That's the nature of being a Pirate and an Art Bell fan in the first place; isn't it? Some things any one of us believe would be classified as 'conspiracy theories,' or just plain ol' wacko, by the majority of people. UFOs? NDEs? OBEs? Y2K? Mind blasts? I mean, really, we are all on the fringe one way or another anyhow; aren't we? And most of us have open minds -- "to a point," as Linnea said. It's that point that differs among us, perhaps. But we are, by our very nature, all skeptical in some fashion of what is commonly accepted as 'true.'
