Oh Highwayman, I'm not sure I pour it up my nose. Why does that seem worse to me than drinking it?
We used to make a garlic tincture we'd snuff up our noses for allergies. It worked, but then it was probably because it burned the pollen out. lol
Have you tried a neti pot for your allergies?
I can't envision pouring it up my nose at all and I guess you could use a neti pot for that. But, Eeewwww.
Since I am more familiar with the concept and have actually known people who did this -- if I had to, I'd drink it.

Ok Sweetie, here are a couple of links from Wiki. I have used the neti pot and a large syringe type thing. You do have to adjust to it, but after the garlic stuff this seemed mild to me. lol
The nasal irrigation does work, at least it does for me when allergy season rolls around. However if you already have an infection I would speak to a professional person, allopathic or holistic, before doing a nasal irrigation.

This last is from amazon. They have a slew of irrigators plus reviews that may help you decide. The item at the top was a random selection just to get to the category and reviews.

AND all drugstores have a saline nasal rinse in squeeze bottles, though it is cheaper and easy to make your own.
