On computer speakers it might be hard to hear. When you get the sound on a decent pair of speakers you can hear the difference.

I'll be serious now.

-classical music & opera lover (greatest thrill was seeing Pavarotti live in concert)
-painter (artist)
-whist online & trivia games
-passionate downhill skier til my knees gave out
-community volunteer worker
-world gossip...aka politics

Too bassy? The guitar sounded more natural in the second than the first. You don't have "loudness" punched up on your stereo, do you?

So do I. Get the beans as BLACK as possible. I use a hot air popcorn popper. works great! I do love the smell it gives off. I'm using a DiLonghi espresso maker that only 1 out of 30 times gives a great espresso. I think the cycling on the temp controller is too variable. I don't have the tools or know how to tell. but as long as the extraction process on a 40 pound tamp is 25 seconds==pressure has got to be good right?

The roast certainly makes a difference==but any/every dark roast tastes good to me. My grinder is variable as well. Got a $40 flat burr grinder and have read you don't get a decent grind until you spend around $500. Really?

All "opinion." And its all about "taste." Double whammy. When my machine wasn't working for a while (cleaned it with vinegar and it got all clogged up) I used a French Press. Gotta say--it was pretty good too.

There is NOTHING STRANGE about pulling a good crema. Off topic!!!

Vote all "NO NEW TAXES" Politicians out of office! This is killing the American Dream of having a Middle Class.
