Sorry folks. Been a little sparse.

Laying down is good for the foot/leg but bad for the ribs. Standing is better for the ribs but bad for the foot/leg. And hours of sitting is really bad on the butt as I have no padding.;)

Hand is healing well, but the foot is slow. My whole lower leg is giving up the ghost being in the aircast. I have lumps where the calf muscle is knotting. Looks like a lot of rehab in the future.:(

I feel bad for you. Makes me think of a cat that goes in circles until they fined the "right" spot to lite. May you find all the right spots. :)

I have some butt padding I sure could share! :D

Mierda happens;)

This is my worst cycling accident and my second major one in 23 years.

Back in '90 I fully separated my shoulder. Up to that point I use to ride year round averaging 12,000km per year.

Due to that I can't ride year round anymore but still manage 3-5000km per season.

I figure with the amount that I actually do ride I'm doing pretty good on the injury scale.

Even skydivers eventually have that one incident.......

I have an appointment in Hull on Friday. They are suppose to do X-rays without casts.

I'm pretty sure that the hand will be fine but the foot seems to be lagging, so that may take a few more weeks.

Ribs are still funky..........

It's a long time to be out of commission Megman. Especially for someone active like you are. That must be frustrating for you. Hang in there!

Megman it takes so long to heal.

Did we really heal fast when we were younger or is it just that we think healing was fast through the telescoping view of the past?

I hurt my ribs a few years back. They were only bruised, but I couldn't believe how much certain movements hurt. Seemed like it took a long time before they were normal.

And that was just bruised. You are broken, I can only try to imagine what you are going through.

You sound philosophically good about this whole thing. I have always thought that attitude had a lot to do with healing well.

Keep healing, keep feeling better even if it is a slower recovery than you would hope.

Thinking about you and wishing you well.

Megman --- healing is slower as we age... and worst of all - old injuries will "flair up" especially when we are going through extreme weather changes. You'll get a little ache from old injuries - goes away, but just a "reminder" - our bodies are aging.

We lift something wrong - shoulder will ache. Step the wrong way - ankle will ache. But we do get better!

Heal up soon!

have you been able to laugh about it yet?

Maybe this can help the laughing/healing process :)

The cop gag was funny but I wouldn't want to see them try that in Chicago. :D

I can't believe the things they are allowed to do in Montreal. They wear real cop uniforms, real cars, they have walkie-talkies, guns (I assume fake but they look real). It is illegal to do this of course, but since it is state-sponsored comedy they get away with it somehow.

Basically their show is a massive international hit since there is no dialogue so it works in every language, and so many of their skits are genius. Some are a little lame but even then it is filmed well and makes me laugh.

Hah! If your ribs hurt from laughing then it means you at least forgot your ribs hurt from falling :)
