OK so vote on it. I have been getting suggestions to upgrade to something more modern. I have tested and I can pull it off.
PROS:
- modern features, better messaging, FB integration, etc.
- easier on server
- faster (maybe)
CONS:
- not the same skeleton running everything
- change
- could be rough seas as she settles in
I would make it look essentially if not exactly the same from the front-page view. I can do that, it is exactly what I specialize in.

Imagine a sailing ship, that you sailed upon for years. You came back after a long absence, and discovered, to both your delight and horror that the bunks and toilets had been upgraded, but also, the ship had been converted to diesel, and the sails were now just for show.
This sounds like I am against change, but my opinion doesn't matter much, I'll run it either way. It is up to the crew. Things work, but things could be better. I can bail us out anytime, and we have multi-day-per-week worldwide distributed backups.
