Former CIA operative Robert Baer tells Piers Morgan on CNN: “I have made these devices and they are not easy to do and someone made two of these and they went off. In 1980s the CIA trained the Afghans to use pressure cookers as bombs. It is also available on the Internet. Forced to make a vote I would say domestic. But there is no playbook for Al Qaeda.”

Exactly. Reporters noted this earlier this morning - "unprecedented" was the exact word used. MBTA was shut down, colleges for miles around closed. Whole cities and towns shut down.......

Yeah, I'm aware of all that. It's arguably reasonable since there's at least a quasi-legitimate concern there may be more bombs and the guy might be wired to explode.

I agree with you Squid, the training exercise was a compete success. We should consider ourselves "trained". Our neighborhoods can now be occupied by the Military, for your protection of course.

When did this "shelter in place" meme begin? That's unfamiliar to me. Must be DHS-speak for stay in your homes, nothing to see here..

It's not at all reasonable, especially in the 'land of the free & the home of the brave". It's a low grade, grinding tyranny fueled by fear - much like the DHS/TSA - designed to acclimate otherwise liberty minded folks to a new 'normal'.

It's nearly universal acceptance is unmistakable evidence that 'America', as historically symbolized by towns like Boston and Philadelphia has ceased to exist.

Yeah, maybe. There's lot of ways to make that argument in general besides this specific example.

"Shelter in place"...first time I've heard that too. But I think it represents an ongoing sociological phenomenon anyway.
