'Almost Live' Classic ART BELL Show Chats! Listen for FREE!
Welcome to the next step in the evolution of the Fantastic Forum's "Art Appreciation Experiment"!
So much as this all may be new to some of you - and even if it isn't - before jumping in here to listen and interact socially and intellectually with our crew please do take some time to study and/or review the Art Bell Classic Shows & Somewhere in Time Chat FAQ for all the essentials about how we ('d like to) think things will and should work around here
Now as I've mentioned elsewhere earlier, (and even despite 'Riddick' being an FF alter-ego/spin-off of his) I may not be back "Justen Tyme" from my grand-niece's birthday party to kick-off the evening here, so if indeed I haven't you need not wait for me... any one or more of y'all can get right to chattin' about tonight's Art Bell Somewhere in Time show starting at or around 8p CT (or anytime after - check the FAQ for Saturday listen link options)

This week Art Bell - Somewhere in Time returns to 11/27/02, when Marcus Allen - the publisher of the U.K. edition of Nexus magazine discussed why he no longer believes man went to the Moon.
Hey now folks, I've been back for an hour but I found KQNA's stream to be nothing but dead air. It took me a while but I found this stream at KLYQ to work well for me:

I'll be here for at least a while, so feel free to stop in folks
It would appear that a lot of Allen's argument is based on the levels of radiation at and beyond the earth's Van Allen belt being such that he believes, based on what is known about the protections and precautions that were taken on manned moon missions, the astronauts still would not have survived.
Additionally, photographic film would also be rendered useless for the same reason.
Still, if true it seems to me that the level of conspiracy required to carry out a hoax of this magnitude would be enormous -
At the same time, I'm not saying it couldn't have been done. As Art said earlier so far as the government and the media are concerned, what we know about the technologies each have available, even at the time of the missions it's not at all unimaginable that they could have colluded to put America "over the top" in the space race against Russia... with a lot less work and at a whole lot less cost.

Just another haughty Brit, eh?
I gotta wonder though, does he actually believe what he's saying, or is it all just something HE concocted to get attention for his magazine...?

I tried out their stream and while it does work for me, for some reason the volume is about half that at KSRO (with both controls set to the max) -
Still, it's better than dead air AND it's always good to have additional sources, especially if we find KQNA continues to have problems...
Playing with people's minds, no doubt - Yep. government and the media, there they go again!rkelley wrote: No problem with volume at KSRO here. Some times I have to wonder about the streams on the web. Some will work today and tomorrow nothing.
Did Algore actually invent the Internet, or is it another case of something the public believes in being all just so much smoke and mirrors?
It's a conspiracy, I tell ya!
A mind should not be so open that the brains fall out; however, it should not be so closed that whatever gray matter which does reside may not be reached. ART BELL
