Trudeau Rumored To Be In Talks To Suppress Potentially Career-Ending Sex Scandal

Somehow, the Liberal Party has managed to minimize the blowback from Justin Trudeau's 'blackface' scandal, and with two weeks to go until election day, is still well within the margin of error in most polls.

But there might be another scandal in the works. According to a report in the Buffalo Chronicle, the party is doing everything in its power to suppress a sex scandal involving Trudeau and the daughter of a wealthy Canadian businessman who Trudeau reportedly may have become involved with when she was a student at West Point Grey Academy, a prestigious private school where Trudeau worked as a substitute teacher in his 20s.

The Chronicle's sources claim that political observers had been anticipating an expose in Saturday's Globe and Mail. However, it appears Trudeau and his people have gotten to the woman, and are in the process of negotiating an NDA. The woman is being represented by counsel, and is reportedly being offered monetary compensation.

Trudeau worked as a substitute teacher at the private school from 1999 until an abrupt departure in June 2001. It has long been rumored that Trudeau had improper relations with female students while working at the school, though nothing has ever been substantiated.

The prime minister was briefly embroiled in a sexual harassment scandal after being accused of "groping" a reporter back in 2000. Trudeau swiftly acknowledged that he was wrong and apologized for groping the reporter.

But a sex scandal involving a potentially underage student would likely end his political career.

Obamie just can't stay out of other Nations Politics. Including our own.

Barack Obama Endorses Justin Trudeau Despite Blackface Scandal

Former President Barack Obama sparked surprise when he endorsed Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Wednesday on Twitter.

Obama indicated that Trudeau was the progressive leader of the world in his endorsement.

The most famous African-American politician did not mention Trudeau’s blackface scandal that threatened to crater his chances at re-election.

I was proud to work with Justin Trudeau as President,” Obama continued. “He’s a hard-working, effective leader who takes on big issues like climate change.”

Obama’s endorsement was also surprising because of his decision to engage in international politics, choosing to meddle in a foreign election.

More pointedly, Obama has not endorsed his former vice president, Joe Biden, in his presidential race.

Looks like Obamie Wins Canada...........condolences

A saving grace, perhaps, is that he no longer wields a majority

Exit Polls: Canadian PM Justin Trudeau’s Liberals Will Stay in Power

Oct. 21 (UPI) — Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party is projected to win enough seats Monday night to secure him a second four-year term following a contentious election cycle. However, he is expected to lose his majority government and lead a minority in Parliament instead.

Liberals have won 146 seats in the Canadian Parliament with 34.4 percent of the vote share to Andrew Scheer’s Conservative Party’s 117 seats with 33.3 percent of the vote, based on a preliminary tally reported by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

Going into the election, CBC’s Poll Tracker gave the Liberals a slight edge of 32 percent of the vote over the Conservative Party’s 31.6 percent.

However, Trudeau’s win falls below the 170 seats needed for a majority and is a drop of more than 30 seats from the 2015 election when he rode into power on charisma, good looks and promises of re-liberalizing Canada’s image that had been pulled right under the Conservatives’ decade rule.

The source of Trudeau’s drop this election could be that his image as the face of a liberal Canada that embraces all was tarnished shortly after the election campaign began in September when the first of three instances of the son of the former late Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau in brownface surfaced.

Actually Trudeau won't lose much power as he will have the support of the New Democrats and the Greens, which he will very much need in order to overrule the cons. It will be interesting to see how he maneuvers this new reality. He will still be able to lead with a Lib agenda but it will require a lot more work and skill.

The conservative candidate did something I've never seen in Canadian politics before. Scheer failed to congratulate the winner (Trudeau) and instead bashed him saying he would make things as difficult as he could. (Paraphrasing this). Scheer's complete lack of class and graciousness so reminded me of Trump!!! :realmad:

I'm not sure I know what the hell you are talking about. Scheer lost the election, Trudeau won the election, in case you can't read. The losers always congratulate the winners. It's called class and graciousness. The con leader displayed a sore loser disposition. Come to think of it, you probably have no idea how or why these characteristics (class and graciousness) would be displayed. Trudeau will have no trouble governing as he will have the support of the other party's, whose platforms and beliefs align with the Liberals, not the conservatives. Get it now?

As for destruction, Scheer will be removed as he ran and lost his first election. The cons won't take a chance on him again. They will call a leadership convention in the near future and he will be voted out.

Told ya!

Quote from my post above:
"As for destruction, Scheer will be removed as he ran and lost his first election. The cons won't take a chance on him again. They will call a leadership convention in the near future and he will be voted out."

I have been following Canadian politics for 50 odd years and have also been involved in Canadian politics at the grass roots level, so it is easy for me to predict outcomes.

Andrew Scheer resigns as Conservative leader

Mr. Scheer made the announcement in the House of Commons on Thursday after calling a special caucus meeting earlier that morning.

He said he has asked the party’s governing council to immediately begin the process to elect a new leader.

He called this one of the most difficult decisions of his life.

“I just informed my colleagues in the Conservative caucus that I will resign as leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and I will be asking the Conservative Party National Council to organize the process of a leadership election,” he told the House.

Guess he didn't want to wait for a leadership convention as the writing was on the wall. He would have been toast and he knew it.

Andrew Scheer

Focused on economic development, fiscal restraint, and reducing inefficiencies in government. A staunch opponent of the federal carbon tax, he has stated that he would balance the federal budget within two years of forming a government and open up the airline industry to foreign competition. Scheer has been likened to former Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
Andrew James Scheer PC MP (born 20 May 1979) is a Canadian politician who currently serves as the Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and Leader of the Official Opposition since 2017. Scheer has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for the riding of Regina—Qu'Appelle since 2004.

Elected to the riding of Regina—Qu'Appelle at the age of 25, Scheer was re-elected in 2006, 2008, and 2011 before becoming the Speaker of the House of Commons at age 32, making him the youngest Speaker in the chamber's history.[1][2] He held the speaker role for the entirety of the 41st Canadian Parliament. On 28 September 2016, Scheer announced his bid for the leadership of the Conservative Party, running under the slogan of "Real conservative. Real leader."[3]

Scheer has described himself as focused on economic development, fiscal restraint, and reducing inefficiencies in government.[4][5] A staunch opponent of the federal carbon tax, he has stated that he would balance the federal budget within two years of forming a government and open up the airline industry to foreign competition.[6][7][8] Scheer has been likened to former Prime Minister Stephen Harper.[9][10][11] On 27 May 2017, he was elected Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada.[12] In the 2019 federal election, the Conservatives under Scheer remained the Official Opposition but won the popular vote and gained 22 more seats than in the 2015 election.[13] On December 12, 2019 Scheer announced he would be resigning as the leader of the Conservative Party effective upon the election of a new one.[14][15]

All the reasons why Canada needs immigration — and more of it
As population sees record growth driven by new immigrants, economists say they're crucial to keeping things like pensions and health care stable

Excerpt:
Politicians make different claims about how many people the country can handle, but economists generally agree on one simple point: Immigrants are a necessary component to achieve economic growth and keep taxpayer-funded systems such as pensions and health care stable and balanced.

This year, Canada accepted some 300,000 immigrants, an increase from the roughly 250,000 accepted per year on average during the previous decade. That number is expected to rise even further to 350,000 people per year by 2021.

To understand the economic consequences of this immigration, a little context is needed.

Canada hasn’t had a replacement rate fertility level — defined as 2.1 children per woman — since 1971. The fertility rate today is estimated at about 1.5 children.

At the same time, the number of centenarians has tripled since 2001 to more than 10,000 people due to increased life expectancy, and they all collect rather than pay for benefits.

Economists who study immigration also note that the baby boom generation has begun to retire. For the first time, this cohort, defined as anyone born between 1946 and 1964, makes up the majority of seniors, and as they retire in increasingly greater numbers, an imbalance in the labour workforce will continue to grow, creating all sorts of pressure on governments and businesses.

The cons would have done huge damage to Canada and even though Canadians were not thrilled with Trudeau, they know they are better off with a Liberal Gov after 13 years of cons rule.

No way Scheer would have improved our economy and Canadians have been stung by this bunch of creeps in the past and thankfully, the memory of the cons past destructive rule did not fade from our minds this time around.

You get more and more ridiculous but hey, I'll play along.

I think you have your countries mixed up. It's you that needs to be concerned about Gulags, as it's your President that sucks up to Putin, and every other dictator in the world.

Canada's economy 'sound and growing,' says Morneau as he unveils fiscal update

Despite a global manufacturing slump and rising world trade tensions, Canada's economy is "sound and growing" at a solid pace, according to an economic update delivered today by Finance Minister Bill Morneau.

The optimistic update points to low unemployment, growing wages and solid business profits as signs the national economy remains strong despite international challenges.

The update contains little in the way of new spending beyond what has been announced already.

The deficit is pegged to rise to $26.6 billion for the current year — up from $14 billion last year, and up from the $19.8 billion projected in the spring budget. It's projected to fall to $11.6 billion by 2024-2025, with the size of the debt relative to the economy remaining flat for the next few years.
