More Fake Outrage

Post by kbot » 05-10-2014 07:02 PM

I first heard about this and thought, "Really, where have these people BEEN al this time?" This is nothing new. This sort of thing has been going on for a while now. In fact, in Nigeria, more young boys have been getting killed. In FACT, attacks on Christians my Islamic extremists has been occurring the entire time Obama has been in office with nary a peep.

Obamas 'outraged and heartbroken' over Nigeria girls

10 May 2014 Last updated at 11:00 BST

US First Lady Michelle Obama has said her family is "outraged and heartbroken" following the mass abduction of Nigerian schoolgirls.

In an unusual move, Mrs Obama delivered her husband's weekly radio address to condemn the kidnapping as, "grown men attempting to snuff out the aspirations of young girls".

Islamist militant group Boko Haram says it carried out the attack in north-eastern Borno state.

Perhaps if the Obama Administration and Sec of State Clinton didn't fight against Boko Haram being termed what it is, a terrorist organization, something might have been done years ago.....

Snippet:
In June 2012, the State Department added three Boko Haram members to a terrorist blacklist, including Abubakar Shekau, who took over the group's leadership after Yusuf's death.

Meanwhile, the Obama administration offered various types of assistance to Nigeria, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters Thursday.

"Designations are just one tool we use to fight terrorism," Psaki said. "There are a range of steps including under Secretary Clinton that Secretary Kerry has continued, stepping up counter-terrorism cooperation with not just the Nigerian government but other governments in Northern Africa."

In a conference call with journalists Wednesday, former Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Johnnie Carson explained the thinking on whether to designate Boko Haram two years ago.

"There was a concern that putting Boko Haram on the foreign terrorist list would in fact raise its profile, give it a greater publicity, give it greater credibility, help in its recruitment and also probably drive more assistance in its direction," Carson said.

Such a designation provides greater access to a group's finances and more ability to limit its movements, "but none of their finances are here in the United States and none of them are coming here," he noted.

Whether coincidence or not, Boko Haram has again increased its attacks since the State Department under Kerry added it to the list of terrorist organizations last November.

When I head this comment:

First Lady On Nigerian Kidnap Victims: ‘In These Girls, Barack And I See Our Own Daughters’ it reminded me of my opinion of the President and First Lady in that nothing gets to them unless they can see it happening to them or their girls.

Fast and Furious, Benghazi, even the VA hospital and others - if they can't put themselves or their children in the situation they just don't seem to get or feel it.

I've heard this and it rings hollow. The attacks on predominately Christian villages across Africa/ Egypt and the Mideast has increased since Obama first took office and very little has been by this administration to stop it

I was wondering why the selective "girls-only" outrage. Where was this administration when the boys were getting killed? But wait, Hollywood has also taken-up the cause, so, it must be the current cause celebre.......

Kbot,

Like everything else which does not resonate with them personally, it simply goes by the by.

Lets be honest here, if they are so concerned about black youth in particular why don’t they stick their noses into the black on black killing which goes on in this country daily and in fact in their own old neighborhood and city.

Did you see the Black caucus come out, Maxine Waters and that other one with the braids who always sits on the aisle for the State of the Union addresses - these women want to bring out the Drones. What about those poor Lost Boys in the Sudan. Oh please

The reason these girls were taken was specifically because they were well educated. The leader of the group that took them even stated this.

Tonight on NBC and CBS this was not mentioned. And neither of the obamas mentioned it either. Nobody want to blame EXTREME MUSLIMS for anything. Especially the left press and the Obamas. And other muslim groups for the most part.

shhhhh....muslims.

The reason these girls were taken is because the extremists wish to deny all females an education. This has been reported on every channel since the girls were abducted including MSNBC.

The war in Afghanistan was motivated in part due to the horrible treatment of their women. At least that's how it appeared. Eleven years later and after the deaths of many U.S. and allied soldiers, as well as innocent Afghan people, their issues are still not resolved and they probably never will be.

Horrible things happen everyday all over the world. Why is it up to the U.S. to police every insane global injustice? The U.S. has it's share of insane nutbags too. How many school kids have been killed because of gun laws that allow insane extremists to pack?

That's what I heard - apparently educated women scares the crap out of extremist Muslims. Look at the girl form Pakistan who was shot in the head simply for attending school.

And, I think that it is important to differentiate between all Muslims and those extremists who are bent on instituting sharia law in their new-found homes that took them in so that the wouldn't be persecuted in the countries they came from.

I agree with you that it would be nice to have seen something stronger form this administration than the first lady making a speech. For all of the indirect power the position comes with, there isn't anything substantial she can do, other than bring topics to the fore. Perhaps she should start with her husband......

I agree with you RA - the Soviets found that out when they tried to fight a country that has never lost a war. Ever. Of course, the US helped Afghanistan by supplying Stinger missiles to the muhajahdeen, and we saw how much thanks that got us.

But to your point about education of women, its a sad commentary on a society that won't allow young girls and women to get an education - or even HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY for an education.

Some societies insist on living in the stone age.....

I agree. Enough already.

But if you are going to go to war......then go in kill everybody and get out. There's no place in war for all these feel good warm fuzzy people. Either do the job or stay home.

Hardly any.

Compared to the killing that happens everyday all over the world brought down by millions of extreme Muslims.

And its gonna start happening more. Even here as they are slowly spreading around the world. Europe and No. America are their own worst enemies.

Remember the unrest in France two summers back. All the riots in the streets. Cars and houses burning. the American press called it "disenfranchised youth"

It wasn't "disenfranchised youth". It was young muslim men who want their host country to change it's laws to meet the views of their extreme religion. American press didn't say to much about that. Not even the Fox puppets.

Same things about to go down in England. That's one of the reasons Blair was so upset about them the other day. He should have done more when he could have. But no....he played the safe don't want to be called a raciest politicly correct card.
