In case you missed it, CSPSAN ran a segment from the MunkDebates program from Toronto earlier this morning, and the topic was the growth of the surveillance states.
Debating the issue, on the pro-side was Alan Dershowitz , and former NSA Director Michael Hayden . On the con side was Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian and investigative journalist and former lawyer Glenn Greenwald.
You can see some of the information regarding the debates here:

MunkDebates also provided an interesting video from Edward Snowden that was played for the debate audience before the debate started, which can be viewed here:

Might take a while to load, depending on your browser, but you can access the same video from the main page, which will load quicker....
If you are not a member of MunkDebates, you can access the debate foe free from CSPAN's website here:

State Surveillance Debate
There you go man, keep as cool as you can. Face piles and piles of trials with smiles. It riles them to believe that you perceive the web they weave. And keep on thinking free. (Moody Blues)

I say surveillance has gotten beyond control - next thing you know they will bug all your homes.
They are working in many places to get rid of red light cameras. Reason is the cameras only see car/license plate - not who might be driving. Second reason - was they were changing the timing on the 'yellow' light so much you might start across on a green, the yellow would "flash on and off" and before you could complete the road crossing - RED would be on.

good viewing, but not being a member - well some ehh.
