The Democrats "now know".........???? I thought is was obvious. Hillary didn't connect with many voters and she just gave-up on a number of states. Don't need a study for this. I wonder how much this group got paid for preparing a study validating what we al knew months ago........

WASHINGTON — A group of top Democratic Party strategists have used new data about last year's presidential election to reach a startling conclusion about why Hillary Clinton lost. Now they just need to persuade the rest of the party they're right.
Many Democrats have a shorthand explanation for Clinton's defeat: Her base didn't turn out, Donald Trump's did and the difference was too much to overcome.
But new information shows that Clinton had a much bigger problem with voters who had supported President Barack Obama in 2012 but backed Trump four years later.
Those Obama-Trump voters effectively accounted for more than two-thirds of the reason Clinton lost, according to Matt Canter, a senior vice president of the Democratic political firm Global Strategy Group. In his group's analysis, about 70 percent of Clinton's failure to reach Obama's vote total in 2012 was because she lost these voters.
Canter and other members of Global Strategy Group have delivered a detailed report of their findings to senators, congressmen, fellow operatives and think tank wonks — all part of an effort to educate party leaders about what the data say really happened in last year's election.

Still not getting it. While saying that she takes personal responsibility, Hillary is still hanging on to the misogyny, "the Russians" and the FBI as the reasons why she lost.

How about the fact that she didn't connect with large swaths of voters, didn't get off her butt and campaign in some states and has a history of just pissing people off..........

Clinton suggested in an interview at a “Women for Women” event in New York that her forthcoming book would include plenty about how misogyny contributed to her loss, adding it to the blame she has assigned to FBI Director James B. Comey and Russian hacking. And by the end of the interview, she also blamed the debate questions she was asked.

The total picture was of a candidate only adding to the things she blames for her loss rather than truly looking inward. She acknowledged her own flaws, yes, but she also seemed to suggest they were rather inconsequential and at one point appeared to sarcastically dismiss the magnitude of them.

Asked whether misogyny played a role, Clinton said with a wry smile: “The book’s coming out in the fall.”

Which brings us to sexism. More than Russia spreading fake news, Comey's letter, controversy over her email servers, paid speeches and even failed strategy -- this is what kept Clinton from winning.

It was easy to see. Never in my lifetime has there been more misogyny on display than during the 2016 election. It was disgusting. The biggest offender: Donald Trump. The flat-out derisive language and more subtle "messaging" were so prevalent that we began to accept it.

During one of too many debates between the many and then just the two. I got a quick cold chill of excitement when The Donald said, "If I was (president) you'd be in jail!" I thought to myself, "He actually said that!" Never in the history of American's campaigning for POTUS was a flat out harsh statement like that so right!

Yeah, we're headed down a slippery slope. Both sides need to stop to consider that, come some point in time, the shoe WILL be on the other foot and the party in power, wielding their power, will upset people along the way, and there WILL be payback at the polls.

The "loyal opposition" also needs to remember that all the mud being flung at the president and Congressional leadership now, will be picked-up later on and flung at their leaders and they should be prepared to act like the adults that they expect the GOP to act as now. Personally, I didn't see any evidence of those flinging the mud at Trump et al have the capacity to absorb insults without resorting to violence or crying foul as they must've done while in kindergarten.....

I only see things getting worse.
