Now we have more news coming out about Nunes and his involvement. As one person told him "You'd better lawyer-up" as it looks bad for Nunes.

As it is, we have world leaders at the NATO summit laughing at Trump over his behavior and obvious lack of understanding of military alliances (hint: it's NOT all about who pays for what......)

As, as one reported noted, all this chaos and Putin hasn't to do a thing - it's all been Trump's mishandling of circumstances......

REPORT: Deep State NSA and ATT Assisted Adam Schiff in Unprecedented Surveillance of Giuliani, Nunes and Reporter Solomon’s Phone Records (VIDEO)

On Tuesday Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff released his highly political impeachment report that omitted several key facts from the interviews and the case. The report bogus report also contained phone records from Rep. Devin Nunes, President Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani and investigative reporter John Solomon.

Adam Schiff arbitrarily releases my phone records as a 1st Amendment protected reporter. State Department bureaucrats reportedly monitored my social media. A witness gratuitously drags a 13-year-old boy into impeachment. Whatever happened to civil liberties, privacy and decency?

— John Solomon (@jsolomonReports) December 4, 2019

On Thursday Laura Ingraham told her audience that the Deep State NSA willingly assisted Adam Schiff in his surveillance of a mainstream reporter and the President’s attorney. This raises all kinds of legal and ethical questions. This also proves once again that the US surveillance state has become an arm of the Democrat Party.

Bunch of malarkey! LOL

Snippet:
Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), a member of the committee, confirmed on CNN that investigators subpoenaed these phone records. And while the records can’t reveal what was actually said during these phone calls, they make clear that Giuliani was in close contact with the White House at key moments.

Try searching a few other sites for info rather just rely on extreme right wing, Trump loving BS sites. I found several that all say the same thing. SUBPOENAED!

Snippet;
But Democrats deny legally asking the telecom companies for any phone records belonging to members of Congress or journalists. The report doesn't say whose records the committee subpoenaed, but the records suggest they targeted the calls of Giuliani and Parnas.

"The Committee did not subpoena call records for any member of Congress or their staff, including Ranking Member Nunes, or for any journalist, including Mr. Solomon," Patrick Boland, a spokesman for Schiff, said in a statement. "Any questions about the fact that Members, congressional staff, or journalists appear in call records released by the Committee should be directed at those individuals, who were in contact with individuals of investigative interest to the impeachment inquiry."

No crime, they lucked out. If you lay down with dogs, you get up with fleas.

I would be very surprised that Schiff would jeopardize the impeachment by obtaining phone records illegally. That doesn't make any sense to the average person with a modicum of intelligence.

Just out of curiosity Doka, if Trump is so innocent, why won't he let his key people testify? Mulvaney, Pompeo, Bolton and Perry! Why wouldn't Trump testify himself?

Of course I don't expect an answer as you never participate when you do not have a credible come back. And saying that Trump doesn't take the impeachment seriously, as some of his followers have stated, is no credible answer. So don't bother boring me with that one.

Shiffy has nothing never, has had anything on Trump. This is all smoke and mirrors, for benifit of low information folks such as your self, to get your mouth watering over, the scent of "Blood" in the water. To feed the haters and that part worked. But you have 63 milion plus voters that beg to differ. It's not that the US won't fall to a certain as yet unknown level. I can only suggest you watch what is happening in your own backyard, since you are directly under Obama/Soros Rule. Your own hatred and bias will no doubt bring you what you have demanded, without the understanding of the meaning of what you seek. Utopia is not for you anyway, it would not, no doubt be good enough for you.

Just as I figured... a non answer.

That is all Republicans have done since the beginning of this process. BS everybody, table thump, yell, then duck and run. You fall into line so well. Do they pay you, or are you just a blind ignorant fan?

If you insist on saying he has done nothing wrong, please state your case as to why. Facts please.

After viewing the polls today, it ain't 63 million voters anymore Doka. His numbers have fallen pretty heavily in key States. If the polls don't do an upward tick in his favor, he can't possibly win. :pinkjump:

Edited to add:
Am I supposed to believe that it's all smoke and mirrors when the witnesses were so impressive and compelling, along with the testimony of three well educated and well respected constitutional scholars? Give me a freaking break!! Trump couldn't have a 5 minute conversation with any of these people without making a complete and utter fool of himself.

You are so funny! You and your friends want a hanging, BUT, YOU DON'T KNOW what the charges are? Here in the States you are "Innocent Until Proven Guilty" you need to brush up on "Facts" to prove his guilt, not my job!

Impressive, Compelling, Well Educated, opinions, feelings and just plain old HATE, ARE NOT Facts. NOT ONE of these people said he was Lawfuly or Constitutionaly guilty of anything, most had no first hand knowledge of what they where talking about, "hear say" is like a bunch of little kids playing "telephone".

Shifty made up His Rules as he went along. The "Charges" against Trump, changed on a Daily basis, no wonder you don't know any thing, you just don't know, what you don't know. Once the Dems get this to the Senate, which by the way is their worse nightmare. We won't be having a hard to follow "Clown Show". Shifty will no doubt run like hell, he's got nothing, he is nothing. The Damage to the people of America, is most troubling.

Being a "Fool" is not punishable by death. Or we would all be dead at one time or another. Well , we have all been "dead" at one time or another, but thats a different story........... :-? :-?

Watched some of the hearings today. Many of the GOP House members suddenly don't look as confident as the arguments for the final charges are being shaped and decided.

Some, such as GOP Rep Jordan, look downright afraid. The Dems hammered issues with called witnesses such as honor and duty - in some cases while eluding gunshots, something Trump and many on the GOP have never done, while the GOP just hammered away with disingenuous arguments about non-availability of witnesses. ALL THAT THE GOP NEEDED TO DO WAS CONVINCE TRUMP TO LET HIS WITNESSES TESTIFY. Problem solved, correct??????

Instead, he'll face obstruction charges - the very same thing that sunk Nixon.......... The Dems attorney cleared-up any confusion about what constitutes "hearsay" and what is direct evidence.

You could just see the GOP House members sink lower in their chairs.

This will set-up a weird dynamic in the GOP controlled Senate - potentially defending a president who called-in foreign powers to win an election (clearly illegal), obstruct Congress (clearly illegal), intimidate witnesses (clearly illegal). It may be a long list. Here's the rub for the Senate - how to defend Trump while not appearing to constituents and the public at large, as not appearing anti-American and also approving of Mafia-type tactics.

Grab the extra large bucket of popcorn........

Uh-oh................

Takeaways from the inspector general's report into the FBI's Russia investigation

Washington (CNN)The Justice Department's inspector general took a big swing at the conspiracy theories peddled by President Donald Trump and others about the FBI's investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.
But the IG's much anticipated report released Monday also detailed errors the FBI committed during the investigation, specifically about surveillance warrants issued for a former Trump campaign aide.
Here are the key takeaways:

Legal and unbiased origin of the probe

In no uncertain words, the inspector general says there was no political conspiracy to undermine Trump's 2016 campaign.
Horowitz did not find "documentary or testimonial evidence that political bias or improper motivation influenced the decisions" to launch the investigation.

The report accuses a former FBI lawyer of altering a document related to the surveillance of campaign aide Carter Page. But Horowitz did not find that it undermined the overall validity of the surveillance.

Conspiracy debunked

The report essentially rebuts more than two years of talking points by Trump and Republicans about a deep-state effort to derail his campaign.

There were no FBI spies planted in Trump Tower, for instance. And the famed dossier by ex-British spy Christopher Steele was not the reason the investigation was launched, the IG report states.

Horowitz specifically says that Peter Strzok, a former senior counterintelligence officer, and Lisa Page, a former FBI attorney, whom Trump has repeatedly vilified and mocked in crude ways, did not act out of bias or unduly influence the start of the investigation.

The IG's office found that the FBI did not try to recruit members of the Trump campaign as informants, and did not to try infiltrate the campaign itself -- either by instructing sources to get hired onto the campaign, or by sending sources into campaign spaces to collect information.

Horowitz will be pressed to explain his conclusions Wednesday before an unfriendly audience: Trump ally Lindsey Graham's Senate Judiciary Committee.

Serious mistakes by the FBI

While the report doesn't back up conspiracy theories promoted by Trump and his allies, the inspector general details 17 "significant inaccuracies and omissions" in four applications for surveillance targeting Page.

A low-level FBI lawyer -- now under investigation but unnamed in the report-- doctored an email that he sent to a supervisory FBI agent as they tried to determine whether they needed to inform a special court overseeing surveillance warrants that Page had been a US government source in the past.

The information was not included in the surveillance warrant applications, but it could have been exculpatory because some of Page's past contacts with Russians were approved by the US government, the IG report said.

The inspector general also found highly partisan instant messages, insulting Trump and calling Vice President Mike Pence "stupid," sent by the low-level FBI lawyer. After the election, the FBI lawyer said in a message: "Viva le resistance."
While it's unclear how significant a role the altered document played in the FBI's investigation of Page, Horowitz did not find that it undermined the overall validity of the surveillance.
I that helped further criminal investigations, his reporting had never been used in a criminal proceeding.

The FBI and Justice Department also misstated a key piece of information about Steele in the FISA applications, the IG found, saying that while Steele had previously provided information to the FBI

A look at the future..........

Impeachment could make life miserable for GOP Senate majority

CNN)With House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's decision to move forward with impeachment, and the White House decision not to participate in the House process, the impeachment of President Donald Trump is virtually sealed.

The only remaining issues moving forward will be how many different articles of impeachment the President will be facing in the Senate -- and what the rules surrounding his trial will be.

It is virtually certain there will be an article on abuse of power, one on bribery for the alleged Ukraine "shakedown" (which Trump denies) and one more on obstruction of Congress for the unprecedented stonewalling of several House committees. What hasn't been decided is whether to add in an additional article on obstruction of justice -- based on evidence presented special counsel Robert Mueller's report.

And while the impeachment vote will be historic, it may lack political drama -- as it's expected to be a party-line vote.
So, the main focus now is on how the Senate will move forward with a trial. There are no rules prescribed in the Constitution; they are set by the Senate itself. The White House has signaled it plans to mount an aggressive defense in the Senate, buoyed by the fact that Republicans are in the majority in the Senate. And Republicans have suggested that Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter will be included on their witness list, as they'll try to make the trial about Democratic corruption -- not the alleged abuse of power by Trump.

Given the Republican majority in the Senate, many assume it will run exactly the way the White House wants it to go. But that is a false assumption. Although it takes two thirds of the Senate to remove the President from office, it only takes a simple majority to set the rules for the trial.

And to predict how the Senate will move forward, you have to understand who has leverage and how they will use it.
Republicans sit in a powerful position if they can convince the entire caucus to vote along party lines on the rules. That won't be easy, though, because Republicans in the Senate have competing interests to consider.

There is little doubt that many Republican senators will remain loyal to Trump. But others have a different political concern -- getting re-elected in 2020. Republican Sens. Cory Gardner, Susan Collins and Thom Tillis don't necessarily benefit from a protracted partisan drama on the Senate floor. They all need more than Trump base voters to get elected.

There are also a few Republican Sens. like Rob Portman, Lamar Alexander and Mitt Romney who still have respect for the dignity of the Senate and may balk at the firebrands who want to politically burn down the building.

Finally, there will be the question of where the Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, comes down. Many still talk about him as an institutionalist, someone who reveres the traditions above the partisan politics of the Senate. Remember back in 1999, when McConnell said of the Bill Clinton impeachment trial -- acknowledging it was unlikely Clinton would be convicted -- "The Senate is on trial here."

But any idea that he's an institutionalist was blown up when he denied former President Barack Obama his constitutional right to appoint a Supreme Court Justice in 2016. McConnell of today will likely only do what he thinks is right for the Republican Party. So, Senate watchers will be looking to see if he's carrying the President's water, or that of the Republicans who are up for re-election. I suspect he cares most about remaining majority leader, and he'll do what's best for his senators.

IG Report Confirms FISA Memo Media Praised Was Riddled With Lies

Nearly two years later, the inspector general's report vindicates the Nunes memo while showing that the Schiff memo was riddled with lies and false statements.

The new inspector general report on FISA abuse settles the debate between Republicans and Democrats on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Both groups put out memos about the Department of Justice’s efforts to secure a warrant to wiretap Carter Page.

At the time of their release, the media praised Democrat Adam Schiff and his memo and vilified Republican Devin Nunes and his memo. Nearly two years later, the inspector general’s report vindicates the Nunes memo while showing that the Schiff memo was riddled with lies and false statements.

The memo from the Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee reported:

1 to secure a warrant against a Trump campaign affiliate named Carter Page. This application failed to reveal that the dossier was bought and paid for by Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee.
2 The application cited a Yahoo News article extensively. The story did not corroborate the dossier, and the FBI wrongly claimed Christopher Steele, the author of the dossier, was not a source for the story.
3 Nellie Ohr, the wife of a high-ranking Justice Department official, also worked on behalf of the Clinton campaign effort. Her husband Bruce Ohr funneled her research into the Department of Justice. Although he admitted that Steele “was desperate that Donald Trump not get elected and was passionate about him not being president,” this and the Ohrs’ relationship with the Clinton campaign was concealed from the secret court that grants surveillance warrants.
4 The dossier was “only minimally corroborated” and unverified, according to FBI officials.

All of these things were found to be true by the Inspector General Michael Horowitz in his December 9 report. In fact, Horowitz detailed rampant abuse that went far beyond these four items.

The Democratic minority on the committee, then led by Rep. Adam Schiff, put out a response memo with competing claims:

The Democratic minority on the committee, then led by Rep. Adam Schiff, put out a response memo with competing claims:

1 FBI and DOJ officials did not omit material information from the FISA warrant.
2 The DOJ “made only narrow use of information from Steele’s sources about Page’s specific activities in 2016.”
3 In subsequent FISA renewals, DOJ provided additional information that corroborated Steele’s reporting.
4 The Page FISA warrant allowed the FBI to collect “valuable intelligence.”
5 “Far from ‘omitting’ material facts about Steele, as the Majority claims, DOJ repeatedly informed the Court about Steele’s background, credibility, and potential bias.”
6 The FBI conducted a “rigorous process” to vet Steele’s allegations, and the Page FISA application explained the FBI’s reasonable basis for finding Steele credible.
7 Steele’s prior reporting was used in “criminal proceedings.”

Each of these claims were found by Horowitz to be false.
