Help me out here, Fan. When you say a "decided" way, is that to say all acts of domestic terrorism that have been committed in terms of extended death and destruction as well as their ostensible socio-political "purposefulness," with the Oklahoma City bombing being a prime example?

Though not producing other than extraneous and minimal damage to property, and perhaps with no express purpose other than to vent personal frustration and anger, we've seen a LOT of mass shootings resulting in numerous fatalities and extensive injuries to survivors, with another occurring just days ago in Oregon -

While indeed fitting the gender "norm," the gunmen in the Red Lake and Virginia Tech massacres weren't white (though I don't know if either was a Christian or was ever in the service) - and even as the gunman at the Oak Creek Sikh temple WAS a white Army vet, the most recent mass shooting here in the Milwaukee area was NOT conducted by a Caucasian.

I'd say provided there's reason to exempt all instances that don't support it, the idea it's just white people, Christians and military men with a gripe that take things to violent extremes in a big way might be a viable hypothesis - all this not to say ANY extremist incidents involving loss of life shouldn't be cause for pause...

Well, if and when it comes to that unlike what Vince Lombardi said, in consideration of going up against "the enemy" in many ways winning isn't everything OR the only thing on the Pentagon's mind these days; so much as the fight is ongoing, "protecting American interests" is one of those never-ending battles.

Even if for no other reason but to justify big budget appropriations for defense, should there be any need for a new target, once that's decided on that's certainly something the military-industrial complex's propaganda machine will let us know about -

But such as "mind-massaging" of the masses goes on, it doesn't end there. IMHO, all too many government policies and programs already in place AND being pursued at the federal level today involve "manufactured consent" from the public. Just as it is, if representative democracy actually worked the way it's supposed to work, Americans wouldn't be in the position of being bombarded by Big Brother's agents telling them what's good for them and what isn't...

Seems to me an informed public capable of critical thinking would have some sense of the excrement we're being inundated with from both Right AND Left extremes, instead of passively accepting all the "official lies" and dictates that take us further and further away from the principles of freedom and self-governance - yet, so much as that IS just what's happening, maybe the public at large ISN'T so bright and knowledgeable after all eh?

McVeigh bombed the federal building in the name of Christ? Must've missed that one.
McVeigh was a registered Republican when he lived in Buffalo, New York in the 1980s, and had a membership in the National Rifle Association while in the military,[84] but voted for Libertarian Party candidate, Harry Browne, in the 1996 presidential elections.[85] McVeigh was raised Roman Catholic.[86] During his childhood, he and his father attended Mass regularly.[87] McVeigh was confirmed at the Good Shepherd Church in Pendleton, New York, in 1985.[88] In a 1996 interview, McVeigh professed belief in "a God", although he said he had "sort of lost touch with" Catholicism and "I never really picked it up, however I do maintain core beliefs."[86] In the 2001 book American Terrorist, McVeigh stated that he did not believe in Hell and that science is his religion.[89][90] In June 2001, a day before the execution, McVeigh wrote a letter to the Buffalo News identifying as agnostic.

Hey, he voted for Harry Browne...obviously, Libertarianism is to blame.

Look, so much as he was raised Roman Catholic and though never really an adherent to it, according to him he did maintain its core beliefs - so it doesn't matter what he said later on about science being his religion, or being agnostic, you can't know for sure he wasn't thinking about Christ right along as he plotted and carried out the bombing... Or, alternatively, you CAN be pretty darn sure he wasn't thinking about Allah.

Definitely on society's fringe. But hey, it's not just Libertarianism is it? There's gotta be some sort of serious mental impairment in ANYONE who votes outside the sane and sensible two-party way.
