While I don't Gonzalez should be confirmed. I don't think former KKK member Robert Bryd is the best person to be speaking on this subject.

Because sometimes it takes one to know one..I couldn't help thinking after I read his speech that I wished it had been broadcast instead of the state of the union address..

It's all one now. Alberto "El Torturador" Gonzalez has been confirmed as the Attorney General of the United States. Robert Kennedy's office is now desecrated by a vulgar sadist who was once involved in judicial murder in Texas and who is now involved in extra-judicial murder all over the planet. What else do you need as proof that Amerika is as dead as a doornail?
"Fuggedah about it, Jake --- it's Chinatown!"

THe Democrats that voted for the Grand Iquisitor...are..

The Democrats who voted for Gonzales were Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut, Ken Salazar of Colorado, Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, Bill Nelson of Florida, Ben Nelson of Nebraska and Mark Pryor of Arkansas.

I encourage everyone to write letters of protest to these senators... as I will...

Have posted this elsewhere but Gonzales trained torture camps at the US Air Force Academy in the years past.

Seriously, SETIsLady?

I wasn't sure whether you really meant what you typed here, so needed a clarification before I added a comment.

Thanks.

He showed more backbone and concern for 'what's right' that 55 'compassionate', 'family values' Republicans...
Republican - re·pub·li·can (r-pbl-kn) - political party, which will control part of Congress 2011-2012, undermining the strength of the country - on purpose, in public, without apology or shame - simply for a campaign advantage in 2012.

Perception is everything..Byrd has a stigma attached to his name. He is free to say what he choses but there is are still a good amount of people that dismiss what he says, because of his past.

I just feel the Dem's have better people in their party that could have driven this point home, much better.

PS...I left the word "think" out of my first sentence. Should read "I don't think Gonzelez should be confirmed"

Rom, I agree. It's your vote on the Senate Floor
that counts -- especially confirmation votes.

Actually, I enjoy listening to Senator Byrd give
an historical perspective on issues that face
our country and his poetry. ;)

Robert Byrd has really hit this one on the head..

Post by Lord Moon » 02-07-2005 01:44 AM

For those who have missed it, the senate is characterized as gutless and weak, at this point in our history, with only a handful of it's members that are willing to oppose the PNAC...and it's puppet...

Probably right now, they are trying to arrange some coincidences, like auto accidents, heart attacks and plane crashes, that will make the numbers even more favorable for them, especially when it comes to reducing the number of 45 senators, who can sustain a fillibuster.....
