Posting a photo of myself

Post by Bobbi Snow » 09-19-2011 02:06 AM

I'm a member. How do I post a photo of myself? I cannot seem to find a way to do it. I'm on an iMac.

Bobbi, when you make a post if you scroll down there is an option to attach a file.

Just click the browse button and go to where you have the picture stored on your hard drive.

There is a size limit but cannot remember what it is right now, but there is free software to reduce image size.

Yes you can attach it to the forum, you could also open an account on something like flickr.com or picasa.com and organize your photos there, then you can just use the IMG button above the text editor area and put in the URL to your photo.

I AM a member... all I want to do is post a photo of myself as an avatar. I have followed all the instructions, and the program keeps telling me it's too large to post, even though I have reduced the size to BELOW what the instructions tell me are the acceptable size of pixels.

Forget the pixels. Just make sure its 100 x 100 and it should work fine.

ETA: If you still have problems you can email it to me or possibly Dale and we can resize it for you. If you wish......

Thanks, My wife (then girlfriend) gave me that tool box full of Craftsman tools for Christmas 23 years ago. No way she could afford such a purchase back then but did it anyway. I guess it did pay for itself many times over though with less trips to the mechanics who are getting $75 -$100 an hour.

And I should have said Tool Chest - what a terrific gift.

I think Craftsman still makes terrific tools - I bought two black garden hoses - made from the same rubber they use for tires and they are guaranteed for life and let me tell you just rolling them up is a workout -they will never wear out.

Sorry about hijacking this thread :(

Yea, I like Craftsman also, great tools for the back yard mechanic IMO. Although recently I have been rummaging for tools at sales and recently picked up these old Proto challengers for .50 cents a piece. I later researched them and found they are arguably the same quality as Snap on and very much sought after.

I just threw them in my wrench drawer to use.
