How about the fact that our body shape and appendages can do a lot of "Stuff" and are just plain PRACTICAL ! :D

Of course there IS the Possibility, that WE are built like THEM"??

Would you recognize an alien? Scientists suggest that extra-terrestrials may be shaped by natural selection and could 'look like us'

Previous studies made predictions about aliens based on what we see on Earth

But in a new study, scientists have used evolutionary theory to make predictions

Scientists suggest aliens are likely to be shaped by the same processes as us

They are likely to exist in various complexities, ranging from basic cell-like aliens to aliens with intricate human-like parts

They're regularly depicted in science fiction blockbusters as other-worldly, monster-like beings.

But a new study suggests that in reality, aliens could be more similar to us than thought.

The research indicates that aliens are potentially shaped by the same processes that shaped humans, such as natural selection, and that they may even 'look like us.'

That's some lazy study. Really, why strain our brains? It's like the researchers were graduates of grade school. Did they wait 'til the night before results were due to whip something up? Is this what passes for science today? Talk about phony. PHOOEY!

"Potentially", eh? Yeah, ETs could have developed much the same as Earth beings - but how dull-minded a theory is THAT? I guess considering unnatural selection in totally alien environments like deep space or higher dimensions is too much work??

Bug-eyed monster depictions of aliens in sci-fi aside, at the heart of the flip-side speculation of ETs as beings not unlike us may be limited cranial capacity on our side. Our minds are capable of conceiving just so much. AND we're xenophobic!

IMHO as a basis of inquiry into any sentient intelligent presence beyond our big blue marble working from life as we know it, or for that matter 'reality' as we conceive it to be doesn't begin to cover all possibilities, especially divergent as many may be -

If you can't believe your eyes, what can you believe? It's an alien! The appearance of extra-dimensional entities could be so completely different from anything to be found in the scope of normal experience as to cause insanity in most folks upon first sight.

Eager as we are to accept answers from academia and science, yet as truly ignorant of the actual nature of existence outside our Terra-centric comfort zone as we are, I really question whether humanity as a whole has the capacity to recognize aliens.

Humanity has a hard time, recognizing it's self. Aliens, I'd say, are the safest entities on the planet. :D
