For anyone who's a men's basketball freak like we are, the redeem team will play tomorrow early A.M. at 2:30 Pacific Time.

We're going out to an early dinner, coming home to fall asleep early, and then getting up at 2:15 A.M. by the alarm clock.

Nuts???! Oh, sure... but it's only every 4 years.

You guys on the East Coast can pretty much get a whole night's sleep and still watch the game at 5:30 A.M. your time. Lucky YOU!:D

CORRECTION TO THE ABOVE!! They just re-aired the time for the men's basketball Gold Medal game--11:30 P.M. Pacific Time; 2:30 A.M. Eastern Time. So I guess it's the East Coasters who will have to set the alarm clocks.

Sorry for that previous inaccurate info. They didn't give both times, the first time I heard them broadcast it.

Anyone else going to watch the closing ceremonies tonight? Wonder how spectacular they will be.

The Closing Ceremony

http://www.nbcolympics.com/photos/galle ... ?GT1=39003

I have not seen the closing ceremony, we may get it tomorrow monday.

The games had its moments, many highlights. I enjoyed the volleyball, but most impressed by how well USA did in woman's fencing. I didn't get to see any of that.

Phelps did very well, but I'm still swimming about his endorsments of Frosted Flakes, what is he thinking?

Next games are in London, I guess.

Hope many people have been uplifted by the games. You get a sense of the diversity of our planet.

I heard from an Aussie friend this morning. She said she's already watched the Closing Ceremonies, and that she enjoyed them very much. She also mentioned that the Chinese, overall, looked very proud to have been a part of something so eye-opening and so grand.

What's with those big wheels of Gouda cheese flying down from the top of the stadium LOL

I know, they're drums.

YIPEE, I GOT TO SEE AND HEAR THE DRUMS!

Post by MAD » 08-25-2008 11:25 AM

We caught the opening ceremonies this morning, before work, but not all of it.

Figure we will have to get the DVD to see all that we missed. If they have a DVD, we might get it.

What's with the bells, did the Chinese invent those too? You can just imagine what the dressing rooms looked like? How does one organize such an event with so many people?

They raised the bar, on production.

Wonder what the people who attended from the US have to say about the crowds, food, accomadations.

I was really disappointed with NBC's presentation of the closing ceremonies. They seemed to repackage it with things out of sequence. And since I never sit still in front of a tv for too long without some interruption, I lost track of what was going on and missed a lot I think.
