Wow, look at all the Embassy attacks that took place under Boooooosh and nobody cared.
_______________________
January 22, 2002. Calcutta, India. Gunmen associated with Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami attack the U.S. Consulate. Five people are killed.
June 14, 2002. Karachi, Pakistan. Suicide bomber connected with al Qaeda attacks the U.S. Consulate, killing 12 and injuring 51.
October 12, 2002. Denpasar, Indonesia. U.S. diplomatic offices bombed as part of a string of "Bali Bombings." No fatalities.
February 28, 2003. Islamabad, Pakistan. Several gunmen fire upon the U.S. Embassy. Two people are killed.
May 12, 2003. Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Armed al Qaeda terrorists storm the diplomatic compound, killing 36 people including nine Americans. The assailants committed suicide by detonating a truck bomb.
July 30, 2004. Tashkent, Uzbekistan. A suicide bomber from the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan attacks the U.S. Embassy, killing two people.
December 6, 2004. Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Al Qaeda terrorists storm the U.S. Consulate and occupy the perimeter wall. Nine people are killed.
March 2, 2006. Karachi, Pakistan again. Suicide bomber attacks the U.S. Consulate killing four people, including U.S. diplomat David Foy who was directly targeted by the attackers. (I wonder if Lindsey Graham or Fox News would even recognize the name "David Foy." This is the third Karachi terrorist attack in four years on what's considered American soil.)
September 12, 2006. Damascus, Syria. Four armed gunmen shouting "Allahu akbar" storm the U.S. Embassy using grenades, automatic weapons, a car bomb and a truck bomb. Four people are killed, 13 are wounded.
January 12, 2007. Athens, Greece. Members of a Greek terrorist group called the Revolutionary Struggle fire a rocket-propelled grenade at the U.S. Embassy. No fatalities.
March 18, 2008. Sana'a, Yemen. Members of the al-Qaeda-linked Islamic Jihad of Yemen fire a mortar at the U.S. Embassy. The shot misses the embassy, but hits nearby school killing two.
July 9, 2008. Istanbul, Turkey. Four armed terrorists attack the U.S. Consulate. Six people are killed.
September 17, 2008. Sana'a, Yemen. Terrorists dressed as military officials attack the U.S. Embassy with an arsenal of weapons including RPGs and detonate two car bombs. Sixteen people are killed, including an American student and her husband (they had been married for three weeks when the attack occurred). This is the second attack on this embassy in seven months.
The attack of our embassy in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11,which resulted in four Americans being murdered, is now used as an opportunity to gain political points. Washington Republicans and the partisan pundits beyond have slapped on the war paint, donned the camouflage and are armed to the hilt—out to get Obama’s blood at all cost.
Now there is loud clamor for transparency and investigations, accusations of a cover-up and incompetence, with those doing the talking all the while professing to only want the truth as concerned Americans and conscientious politicians. Give me a break. The only conscientious concern here is self-serving partisan BS.
Where was all that concern for our men and women serving in embassies and consulates across the globe when all the other attacks and killings occurred?
Like in 2002 when the US Consulate in the Karachi, Pakistan, was attacked and 10 were killed?
Or in 2004 when the US embassy in Uzbekistan was attacked and two were killed and another nine injured?
How about in 2004, when the US Consulate in Saudi Arabia was stormed and 8 lost their lives?
There is more: In 2006, armed men attacked the US Embassy in Syria and one was murdered.
Then in 2007 a grenade was thrown at the US Embassy in Athens.
In 2008, the US Embassy in Serbia was set on fire.
In 2008, bombings in the US Embassy in Yemen killed 10.
Notice the dates, all before the Obama administration.

RA,
I really don't know what we are trying to compare here?
it's not about the terrorists bombings which were going strong while the Iraq war was raging - these bombings you are referring to appear to be during such time as mentioned.
How can you discount the whistleblowers who have come forth? should they be lumped in with GOP as being partisan and having an agenda?
Maybe, just maybe those folks who have come forward have a legimate concern. Doesn't it seem strange to you that the folks who were actually there offer a completely different account of what happened from those thousands of miles away?
Those whistleblowers who came forward worked closely together and they admired and respected the Ambassador - put yourself in their positions and see if from their perspective you can't at least acknowledge this may not be bi partisan BS and that perhaps they are sincere in their testimony.
Back to the Bush hating -I don't know of an instance where any allegation was waged that President Bush or anyone acting on his behalf issued orders to stand down when public servants were in harms way.

Can I just bring in the quick conspiracy angle that this was supposed to be a simple kidnapping (to make Obama a hero) gone bad? That our "operatives" got out of control? Stand downs? Can't get there in time? Sound familiar?

These people just plain lie. How many months did they claim a protest got out of hand because of a video.
Please.
Media matters web site is a web site that is run by the far left loonies . Everything on there is either twisted or taken out of content. If anything gets reported there it's because somebody on the right is correct about something and it's scaring them.
You will be happy to know though RA no matter what your king dose short of keeping sex slaves in the basement of the white house will be ignored by 90 percent of the press. So don't let your heart be troubled.
On a happier note I am all caught up on my Corrie episodes.

The right wing nutbars on Fox News doesn't twist, omit and lie through their teeth? They are world famous for doing just that.

RA,
Fox never said President Obama ordered the troops to stand down - this is partly what the hearings are about - who gave those orders in HIS administration. Don't go or rescending the original order to assist they mean the same thing - just different words.
Really don't you think if the Obama administration had come out and not lied about the murder of the Ambassador and three others and had they given the facts as they are this would not be rearing it's ugly head.
Again a persons history of how they manage a crisis is indicative of how they will manage a current crisis so I'm not surprised Hillary attempted to shut this down and demoted one of the whistleblowers to a desk job.
Cmon we who have worked a long time understand how that works.
