What is wrong with Art? That cell phone & keys thing over the phone is flat out WRONG. Last night he was wrong about the cell phones cooking eggs.

Art gets a lot of his news stories from the Internet lately. Maybe he always has but it's seemed more obvious lately to me. The Phillipines must not have very good news services..no surprise, I guess.

Hi Levitron. I would think it would be wrong too. I don't think the opening code is sent in the audible tone, which would need to be the case to get it to work via a cell phone relay. The code is an RF signal that would be out of a cell phone's transmitting bandwidth. Yes, Art, an old school radio guy, should know this.

It's very easy to verify things there.

I would think Art would have a little common sence when it comes to electronics too. He should know that the key fob thing won't work.

The phone can't rebroadcast the frequencies that a key bob broadcasts to unlock the car. Dahhh!

If I may, I have a quick off topic question. What is it that makes radio audible in things like fan motors? My friends think I'm nuts, but I swear I hear it all the time. Or am I truly insane?
