Regarding purgatory and all that....

"You know, when Patrick converted the pagan Irish, he invented the doctrine of purgatory that had previously not been church dogma and he invented the notion of purgatory to convince the pagan Irish that their belief in fairyland in a nearby dimension inhabited by diminutive dead soles could be assimilated to Christian dogma, and this worked so successfully that then it was accepted as general church dogma and very successfully used to convert Slavic people as well" TM London 1992

Yeah, I don't know if it's because the screener Art is forced to use during the guest lines (I think he still has to use them at this time) think these are the "interesting" callers or what. It does seem llike they are getting thru too frequently. The screeners don't know Art's show. They think it's like the M-F show. Which is sucko. JMO :(

A PhB? Well, he is very impressive. No axe to grind. Just convincing and informative. Tolerant and seems to really care about others, etc..

Pagan Irish did not believe in death. You had this life, then next life. The druii had the ability to walk between the two lives and visit in dreams when they slept with their heads pointed west.

Art had to jump right in and close this out. Next time, Paul. And I hope there will be a next time for this guest. Great show.

G'nite to everyone still here.

Tomorrow night - John Hogue. Probably some gloomy predictions of war.
