I am not sure of NJ - but I do think the Northeast. I think his mother is in Maryland - not sure.

Yeah in the Art of Talk he said he worked at a radio station in Northeast NJ, and lived in PA when he was very young

Seemed a bit Jersey, a little Mass too maybe? There is a West coast accent but it's pretty bland. It's a combination of many accents; like white noise...
