I don't buy that at all altho it is true over 50% of everyone is on something and our kids are so over medicated - they are just kids after all.

Ya, if you hit reply its best to wait and see if it goes before trying again.

A light-hearted look at why men shouldn't get angry with women drivers may be found on the Internet:

I was riding to work yesterday when I observed a female driver cut right in front of a pickup truck, causing him to have to drive onto the shoulder to avoid hitting her. This evidently angered the driver enough to make him hang his arm out his window and 'flip the woman off'.
"Man, that guy is stupid," I thought to myself.
I **always** smile nicely and wave in a sheepish manner whenever a female does anything to me in traffic, and here's why: I drive 48 miles each way every day to work. That's 96 miles each day, and of these, 16 miles each way is bumper-to-bumper.
Most of the bumper-to-bumper is on an eight-lane highway. There are 7 cars every 40 feet for 32 miles. That works out to be 982 cars every mile, or 31,424 cars.
Even though the rest of the 32 miles is not bumper-to-bumper, I figure I pass at least another 4000 cars. That brings the number cars that I pass every day to something like 36,000.
Statistically, females drive half of these. That's 18,000 women drivers! In any given group of females, 1 in 28 has PMS. That's 642. According to Cosmopolitan, 70% of women describe their love life as dissatisfying or unrewarding. That's 449. According to the National Institute of Health, 22% of all females have seriously considered suicide or homicide. That's 98. And 34% describe men as their biggest problem. That's 33.
According to the National Rifle Association, 5% of all females carry weapons, and this number is increasing.
That means that every single day, I drive past at least one female that has a lousy love life, thinks men are her biggest problem, has seriously considered suicide or homicide, has PMS, and is armed.
Flip one off? ..... I think not!

Now that's pretty darn good - do you listen to alot of talk radio with that type of commute?

I had a situation where I was at a red light in my truck (big) and my Maltese (small) and just ready to go as the light turned green and he laid on the horn and then gave me the hand signal.

I let him get in front of me and then he turned into the Verizon store and I pulled up next to him and we had a conversation.

I still laugh about that to myself.

That wasn't me but I keep that in mind while I'm biking. I put in about 5000km on the bike every season and I've had a few incidences.

Its a CCM that I bought back in April '07. It has basically been rebuilt and has a lot of extras. It has almost 15,000km on it now.

Very nice bike and that is serious riding.

I do get annoyed how drivers seem to be not very courteous of bike riders - do you encounter that much?

Do you have a helmet law?

We have too many cyclists who don't obey the rules of the road. A driver gets pissed at one, then I come along and he's already pissed. Gets ugly sometimes.

We have helmet laws for 16 or under only.

WOW lenient helmet law - or perhaps I should say reasonable.

In California we are highly regulated.

You sound like a very safe rider - always better to keep your head.
