8/19/12 - ORR Classic Art Bell Show 'Almost Live' Chat - 8p

Post by Riddick » 08-19-2012 07:30 PM

OK folks, this is a test. Feel free to jump in around or about 8p CT or anytime after...

For choices, we can listen to whatever shows are on U7 or FineArtStream at the time

That said, for the purposes of this "test" though, to start I suggest we all tune in U7 and see where things go from there

Hey now, tho there's been no lurkers or posters here yet I see we have more than the usual number of 'Guests' looking at the ORR parent thread - could be an anomaly - OR might it be more than that...?

Alrighty folks, for all you enquiring minds that want to know, here's the show that's now playing at U7:

"Nuclear 911"- Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell
from Saturday August 21 2004 with Howard Bloom

Right now Bloom's talking about Jacko being the most astonishing person he ever met

IMHO, "Astonishing" is the least of what Jacko was!

Incidentally, we've had one lurker here so far...

Maybe Sunday night wasn't exactly the best choice I could make for a test?

Bloom said he thot Jacko was manipulated into being weirder than he might otherwise have been...

Might be true, but I dunno if that would hold up in court!

Hey Riddick! Just fired up your u7 stream. Never knew it existed but sounds pretty nice.

Eating late dinner - homemade soup n crackers - mmm. ::p

..so typing is not easy.

Is this ad-free also? I guess so - Art's back after no break. I like it already and I don't even know the topic yet.

I've been known to mock and ridicule these shows at times..well, not Art's so much - Just Hoagland and a few others..never art.

If I get out of hand just throw me a warning.

Al qaeda is topic? allahachbarn! :tonguesmi

Hey Dale! Glad to see ya :) As it is, I got a late dinner thing going here myself but it ain't all made up yet so I might be AFK for a bit coming up here -

Anahoo, just t'catch ya up some Art & Bloom just started talking about Osama there a little while back...

Another 'astonishing' fella, apparently he was looked at as a superstar in the Islamic world -

If he was indeed done in, mebbe Jacko was there to greet him when he joined the "dead icon" club??

I vaguely remember this show and Howard Bloom..I'm out of the C2C loop and Spike Mike was the expert in here anyway..I barely qualified as side-kick, heh.

So will at any given moment in time are we hearing basically the same thing? I think so as long as you don't hit pause.

So to keep things in synch, so everyone is on the same page, everyone should refresh the stream at the top and bottom of the hour..ya think?

Would you believe I AM thinking what you're thinking, Brain... er, I mean Dale? ;)

Anahoo, I'm not all done with my dinner prep here so I'll have the AFK thing more or less going for a while yet -

Though as an aside to the show itself check out this alternate link to the C2C Program Summary I posted above:

http://archive.coasttocoastam.com/shows/2004/08/21.html

This archived one is better IMHO. Besides the retro design, it's not hosed up like the current one where the pic of the sub doesn't appear and some links are bungled up..

This is the type of show that could get me some trouble as I think there would be fewer world problems, less war, if organized religion went the way of the dodo. How much blood is spilt in the name of ones god?

I like the old site design better as it did not feature the host mug in the header. ::p

Here I am setting a bad example with my bad attitude.

Hah! Art was saying Bloom has a bad rap for hating islam..I believe a bit ago Art said they should be eradicated - he mant the extremists after he was queried by Bloom..but Bloom didn't want to go to that..

He's talking about his muslim friends now..Bloom, I mean.

Well Dale, so far as achieving a goal of world peace, You Know "It Don't Come Easy" -!!

Great bumper there eh? If pushed to pick, that may be my favorite rock tune of all time...

Good song..the fifth beatle.

World peace is impossible, imo - a pipe dream. As long as there are people there will be war - at least the way people are now. It's our nature to fight, to fear. Perhaps one day, when we evolve into peaceful beings.. But i see little reason to even hope for world peace with our current mentality. Besides, there's no money in peace.

Depressing..sorry.

You bring religion into any topic - throw away the logic and reason as those will just get in the way.
