This just in, re: FF survival ATTN: Linnea
George Noory checked in to the ORR tonight and said he can't run it, but would really like to know what it would take to keep Fantastic Forum alive. He said he would hate to see it go down, as he's learned a lot from it.
It was suggested that he contact you, Linnea, but if he doesn't know how, perhaps you can contact him?

I can't beleive anyone would seriously consider this offer!
OK, I'll stick my neck out, since no one else seems to be willing to.......or maybe I'm the only one here who feels this way, however, are you serious??!!
Although a seemingly nice and caring gesture from George, I would be dissillusioned beyond belief if George was the "new owner" of the FF.
This Good Ship, if I understand it's history correctly, was founded as an Art Bell listener forum. My understanding is, that this forum stood for unbiased, non partisan discussion of talk radio and related topics.
How could we retain this and our autonomy with a potential owner or investor who is directly related to the much of the discussions on this board?
Of course my preference would be that Linnea and Damien retain the Fantastic Forum, however if that cannot be, then my preference would be for a Pirate or group of existing members to take it on....or anyone else who does not have either a vested interest in content.
Premiere/Clear Channel already has a strong hold over much of the media on this continent....do we really want to see this extend here? They have their own message board.
Apologies George. You may be extending your hand for altruistic reasons, however I can't help but first be somewhat suspicious of your motives....and besides that, it just doesn't sit well in my gut.
Sorry Linn....just the way I feel.

Just want to make a very clear statement - that neither George Noory or C2C has made any contact or suggestion of any offer to purchase or have any formal connection with the Fantastic Forum. Let's make sure a rumor as this does not begin to float around the ship.
Thanks. It is really important to not let things as this get out of control. This is and will be an independent pirate forum.

Geeze, some of the people with their George Noory bashing amaze me. The man made it clear, I thought, that he didn't want to buy the Fantastic Forum. He just wanted to see if there was anything he could do to help keep it going. I think it was a nice gesture.
I'd like to buy this place myself, but I'm sure he price is too high. There is a lot I really like about this place, and there are additions I could see making it even better. I sure hope it survives, because it is the best forum of its kind on the web.
