Forum downtime
Fantastic Forum was down Friday afternoon and evening due to some network/server issues beyond our control, but seems to be back 100% now - at least for me.
If you are having problems seeing threads or notice some things not showing up try refreshing the page. If you are having any problems logging on, posting or viewing the site, please let Fan know about it here. Thanks!
Sorry for any inconvenience.

Most of the threads that were here from BEFORE FRIDAY are not accessible!!!! -- FAN IS GONNA HAVE TO DO A DATABASE RESTORE TO BEFORE FRIDAY!! (Most threads from about January 1 this year till this happend are not readable (ON ANY BASE))
Here is 1 thread as an example
showthread.php?threadid=47185

Hey now, thanks for the update Dale... though along with Dude I'll have to say I've done some pokin' around and, from the looks of things, while threads started both before and after 12/17/12 still exist, it appears most if not everything anyone actually posted in ANY threads since then is MIA.
I imagine so much as can be done, it's going to take some work to get them back, and at some point we could be in for another service interruption with or without notice for who knows how long... 'Course, who knows what sh!t could happen at any time for ANY reason to put the ship out of action?
I've never been a Boy Scout, but "be prepared" is a motto I can believe in - So as a consequence of this latest glitch I've taken the liberty to create, for those down-times both expected AND unexpected, a "lifeboat" forum for the FF at
http://fantasticforum.freeforums.net
I've set it up so folks'll need to register to get access to the forum. Y'all are welcome to check it out and set up accounts; hopefully we'll not have much need of it...
In any case there's one thing you can say for sure about a lifeboat - it's better to have it and NOT need it than to need it and not have it, KnowhutImean?

I have few details but Fan is aware of the problem and is working on it as I type this.
Some stuff may take awhile to propagate and some stuff may need to be restored, if possible. But Fan described it as a 'full disaster', so sounds rather serious. All we can do is hope for the best..
Posting is good now, or appears to be on my end.

I see we still have stuff missing here and there. I was hoping that it all would be magically back by now. Looks like Fan was right, this was a real cluster-___.
As I recall, forum restores can also cause posts made after to disappear so back up your post in a doc or something because it's possible when you return, it won't.
Just sayin'...

Fan yesterday, manually rebooting his remote telephone modem switch farms by chirping binary signals at them from deep within his snowbound Interwebs War Room (and chewing gum at the same time, because he can):
Fan today, as he stood victorious before his cheering minions:
Well played, sir.
