why is the "Art's New Wife" thread closed?
the thread was very respectful and civilized, why was it closed?
I had hoped to add a few thoughts of my own:
I love Art, have for years. was so sorry to hear about Ramona's passing.
but I have to say (in my opinion, of course), that this recent development doesn't seem like the type of thing that a man as wise and experienced as Art would do.
like many others who replied to the aforementioned thread, I am worried about him...

I don’t know why the thread on Art Bell’s recent marriage has been closed down, and frankly, I don’t care. I posted in the thread on the subject twice, the first time to congratulate Art and his wife and to wish them happiness in their life together, and the second time to tell another poster to let Art live his own life in the way that he sees fit. And that was that, as far as I am concerned. But not as far as other people are concerned…
The continual obsessing about Art’s recent marriage is yet another sign to me that quite a number of people on The Fantastic Forum do not have lives --- much less ideas --- of their own and live vicariously through gossip and speculation on the lives of other people. Regardless of what my personal feelings about Art’s marriage may be (assuming, of course, that I have any), the only thing about Art’s marriage that matters to me is how it impacts upon his job performance on Coast-to-Coast: Weekend Edition. Most of the aforesaid gossipers and speculators don’t think about this matter at all, but I think about it a lot. Art said, explicitly, that the one of the miracles of radio is that you can do it from anywhere on earth, and technically speaking, he is correct. But Art has made such a massive change in his life and the learning curve of his adjustment to a new life-reality is so steep that I cannot understand how he can continue --- at least, in the short run --- to honor his commitments to Coast-to-Coast. I hope that I am wrong, and I look to Art to prove me wrong, but I think I may not be wrong. We shall see, soon enough…
Still, I find the ferocious and very wide-spread preoccupation on The Fantastic Forum with Art Bell’s private life a rather distressing sign of the overall nature of the collective personal involvement in this site. Of course, speculation on Art Bell or George Noory is far game, but when it goes to such ridiculous lengths, literally overnight, then I start to feel quite uneasy about the collective mindset of the audience for which I have been writing. Get a life, folks! Get back to the parapsychological, the ufological and, of course, the inescapably political! And let Art Bell and his new wife get on with their life together!
