Even so, despite the host, I can not think of a "Coast" topic more deserving of an extra hour of live calls than "Ghost to Ghost".
Art used to do five hours every night for years. There is an increasing tendency on "Coast" to cut back the program even further. Taped portions of replays of previous shows now fill many hours of "Coast" as the live portion is often truncated.

Absolutely. I still can't understand why Art stood by and let it happen. He seems to have a very "blue collar" attitude about retirement." Most people who create something so cutting edge, so meaningful, and so beloved as C2C once was would never allow it to die a slow, lingering death as Art did with C2C . I'm still shocked he walked away without so much as a glance back. It's sad.

They don't get the value of the tradition. I remember having this debate last year and I still agree with myself: G2G should just be discontinued, or re-formatted. To try and keep it going half-a$$ed just makes things worse.
But for tonight, it is what it is. Of the many things I dislike about Ian, foremost is his tendency to blather on -- usually about himself -- even in focused interviews. If he pulls that tonight in the G2G format it will be a complete catastrophe. While yes, cutting Ian's show short and re-playing an Art show from eight years ago is a bit of a dis, it may be the only reason a lot of people bother to listen. Count me among them.
Ian was always a like a pair o brown shoes with a tuxedo insofar as C2C was concerned. Totally inappropriate host for the C2C format. He lost what tiny bit of credibility he had when he interviewed Jesus Christ on C2C. He embarrassed himself and the two or three listeneres he had left.

My heart always sinks that much more when Art does come back (for a night) and says things like: "apparently this was a topic recently" or "no, I wasn't aware George had interviewed him". He doesn't even listen. To his own show. Granted, a lot of people don't listen anymore, but you'd think he would check in every so often to at least see what was happening.
Did you ever stop to think, and then forget to start again?

Art doesn't listen to Coast because its not his show anymore and hasn't been for a long time.
Basically he's a fill in host for the fill in host's now.
It would be better for all of us for him just to walk away and never come back. Hearing him so rarely is just torture now. Its just a reminder of how good Coast to Coast used to be.

Personally, I am grateful when Art is on. Noory is an average host at best, but what makes C2C still interesting to me are the guests on the show.
I find it hard to believe that Premier can not find a host with the passion of Art or George Knapp. There has to be someone out there.
I think that Art has been through so much with his son, Ramona, being defamed, too many 16 hour days doing nightly radio, I think that he just wants to enjoy life and doesn't want to deal with the grind of doing radio every night.
