I think the way he treated his audience in the end turned off a lot of people. I also think information about his own personal behavior turned of half his listeners.

It was kind of a turn-off to me when after his last "Predictions" broadcast he made the comment that the people who were calling in with predictions were less than up to his taste... I can't recall exactly what his comment was, now, but it seemed he thinks all the predictions were lame-brain.

I never called in for that show. Not that I don't have feelings about things to come, but I'm not experienced enough to go on the record...

About 5 years ago I had a distinct premonition that LA was going to suffer a rather strong 'quake soon, so I took down my bookcase. It was free-standing on a half wall, and had there actually been a good shaker, I could see hundreds of books and long pieces of shelving falling down our stairs and clogging up the stairwell; maybe even injuring one of us or one of the cats. We haven't had one yet, so I guess I took it down and had a professional one with a heavy plastic back on the stairwell side, installed for nothing! It cost us $2700 to have it built and attached to the half-wall above the first flight of stairs. Alas, when I went to the garage to retrieve a lot of my collectable books, I found someone had jimmied the locked storage closet and taken a lot of my cherished (some author-signed) books in the boxes.

Believe it or not, the one I'm the most pissed about losing is the JOHN TITOR book. Copies of it now are a rare find, and cost quite a bit of money when one becomes available.

Also, all my Numerology text books were taken, too, and my Shirley MacClaine autographed collection. At least they didn't find the VHS UFO lectures interesting enough to pilfer, or any of the UFO DVDs from various conventions over the past 12 years. I guess they had no interest in woo-woo lectures!:D Since Command Sgt. Major Robert O. Dean (my mentor) is gravely ill and may not live much longer, I'm so thankful all my videos of his talks are still here.

I haven't had a lot of energy for the past few months, so it's been a slow process, sorting thru what's left, and getting them properly placed in the new bookshelves. And I'm still not finished!

There were lots of other things in that storage closet that could have been worth quite a bit of money had they also been taken, but obviously whoever took these treasured items did it during a time when we were both gone for a couple of days - perhaps when we went to Rod's grandson's H.S. graduation, a couple of years ago.

Anyway, I think Art has wistful thoughts of reinventing a show, but I doubt he will ever do it. He seems to be pretty settled into his life, and raising a child at his age is probably not as easy as it was when his son was born, 25-30 years ago. I often wonder whatever happened to the extensive collection of shows ShirleyPal had... Maybe her family has enough interest in it to have kept it for posterity. But when Art gave up that large alien in his broadcast room in the house in Nevada, I figured his life had changed radically with a little one in the house, and that perhaps the paranormal inquisitiveness had become just a memory from another lifetime.

How bout as easy as the son and daughter he walked away from 40 or so years ago from his second marriage . Or did you mean the one he had with his third wife that lived a few blocks away from him who is older than his fifth wife who he married a few weeks after his forth wife's death and had a baby with.

He makes my head spin. He was a great radio guy back in the 90s. Now he's a self absorbed mess.

They should fire George. End the show. And replace it with Clyde Lewis's show (Ground zero)

Bobbie, I had quarterly newsletters from Dr. J. Allan Hynek that were mailed to me for a couple years during the 70's . They were stolen from me too. I hate even remembering this! :(

I think George Knapp would make an excellent host, if he ever retires from TV.

Self absorbed - good word - I'm not much for drama either - except Boardwalk Empire:D

Thanks for the tip - Clyde Lewis. I checked him out and he and his show look interesting.

With IHeart now it's so easy to listen to any station you want - in your area or not.

I'd say wistful is the right word, Bobbi. Art may feel a "nostalgic yearning" of sorts (much as many of his fans might also have) for the way things were at one time but as it is, it's not one strong enough for him to follow through on, given where he is at this stage of his life.

Think of it: it's now been more than two years since his final C2C appearance (having only been on board for a mere 15 shows a year since 2007), more than five years since he retired from his regular weekend hosting gig, and more than ten years since he announced his permanent retirement as host of the weekday show.

That all certainly seems to be more cause to doubt he'll ever do another show than reason to believe otherwise - and frankly, even if I strained my brain 'til the cows come home, I can't point to anything substantive that could act as the basis of any sort of convincing counter-argument.

Being the case an all-new show is pretty much an unreasonable expectation, my thought of occasional fill-ins for Whit, or 'special bonus' episodes on Dreamland is all I can figure out for a way we might yet get to hear Art again that doesn't require him to 're-invent' anything...

I say this with no personal lile or dislike of George Noorey, ....the show bores me. It could move faster, and they could talk more on things that are more interesting in general.
Art "was" great in his day. We all have our human flaws. Lord knows I do. If he were to restart a show of some sort, even from The Philipines, he would do great! However, he may have a contract with the Coast to Coast stating that he will not.
I miss sitting up at night here in Vegas on a cold night listening to the very interesting and provocative shows on Aliens, Flying saucers, out fobody experiences, etc... He could do a show from the PI andait it here live easily. I hope he does, wish he would and would listen. I used to run the Art Bell Las Vegas Listeners Club. I'd start it again...if he would. :crazyjump

Gound Zero with Clyde is an awesome show. It's on FM 101 here out of Portland, and the archives are on Tune-in radio online. FM 101 KXL streams online. I've been listening to him for awhile. 5 hr. show too. 7pm to 12pm PT. :) Only listen to CtoC on some weekends now. Many stations have dropped him, I used to listen sometimes from 780AM in Reno cause I could get that station here. But CtoC isn't there anymore. I look sometimes for good guests from him and tune in if I find one, but when he does get a good interview, he ruins it with his constant interuptions with stupid, off the wall questions. He frustrates me so much, I just give up and turn it off. :(

They only play one hour of the show here right before coast. I think it's the third hour. Dumb.

We listen online.

One of Art's strengths (apart from the guests and topics he chose) was his ability to interview a guest by letting them talk for extended periods of time. Sometimes, when conducting an interview, it's best to just be silent and let the guest actually talk. George hasn't grasped that. Art also used to prepare by reading up on a topic before and interview. George's lack of subject matter continuously manifests itself on a nightly basis.

I agree with you Kbot, when George starts asking dumb questions, like, No one can answer, drives me to distraction. He tends to remind me of the little kid in the back seat going "what's that" and "are we there yet?" and "Why", for the thousand time. I have noticed the guest gets lost sometimes and can't pick-where he left off and he was about to say something really good(in my mind anyway).

Exactly! The guest goes off track when he is in the middle of something very interesting. That "kid in the backseat" metaphor is spot on! I would think Noory would have learned by now, but guess he never will....I really think he is selfish, and self-serving. AB may have been short at times with callers, but he was a great interviewer and realized the important aspect of the show was to keep listeners interested in the guests and their material. :) ah well....SO...I heard AB is starting a new radio show?? Where should I look to find that info, anyone already post about it?

He said not now on FB. He was doing it for all the wrong reasons. And hes going to consult the radio spirits. So we wait again......still love ya Art.
