Cleaning Products

Post by Psychicwolf » 11-14-2007 02:30 PM

What cleaning products do you use and do you try to avoid chemicals as much as possible?

I began using primarily vinegar (at different solutions for different jobs) for my cleaning several years ago. Now that I have a septic system and a well, as well as the proximity to the river I am especially vigilant that I keep chemicals as far away from my water source as possible. When I clean my house smells like a salad but I like salads.:D

For things where I do need some kind of oomph, dishes and laundry primarily, I use Seventh Generation products which are readily available in most major store and fairly economical. Also no animal testing, which is important to me.

psychic wolf -- vinegar solutions work, ammonia combo's work, but best of all -- just good ole elbow grease... :)

Baking soda in drains (with a bit of vinegar) keeps them running and clear for most part.
Somewhere in my files are the recipes for ammonia and vinegar based cleaners - will try to locate.
