Gardening Time

Here's another one of the nasty green pool. This was taken right before we moved in. You can see through to where the gardens are now beyond the pool. There really was absolutely NOTHING there. But hey, we at least we could see potential! LOL

Joolz - absolutely beautiful! Can see all the loving work to create the beauty as well as practicality with the veggie gardens!
I really enjoyed seeing the before pictures too as it shows what can be done.

Rain with possible bad weather so will try to get back to you all after storm has gone through.

SETBACKS!
After 5+3/4 inches of rain and flooding, most of the gardens here will require some work to restore where dirt was washed out in the flash flooding.
Over 3 inches of water covered the roads here and creek was way over its banks. Some of the plants were washed out, but seem to be intact - just laying on ground. Most of those that were not broken have been replanted. Others will have to be replaced...

Everyone's gardens are beautiful!:D
Things here are off to a slightly slower start, of course. Two of the tomatoes have blossoms now but we've had a fair amount of rain so the bees haven't been out much to pollinate things yet. Most everything looks healthy, but are waiting for a little sunshine to come their way. I don't have much of an ornamental garden due to deer and critter activity out here. My garden is behind a 6 foot cyclone fence. I have a clematis (heaven like fragrance) on the deck by my bedroom window, and a few herb pots up on tables here and there on the deck, but anything down below I have to fight for! Matter of fact a skunk about the size of a small labrador just mosied on past the window.

Dance to heal the earth. Not just when you're dancing, but always. Live the dance, whenever you move, in all you do, dance to heal the earth.

Five tomato plants to replace in the larger garden area, but others (west raised bed and around deck) are fine after some 'picking up' from where they'd been bent over. Glad they are bendable right now. The replacements are ready to put out, but another rain storm is due to hit today, so will wait and see if it does or not.
The flowers all survived the severe rain and flooding waters. Few flowers knocked off here and there, but nothing drastic.
Problem here is that we are predicted to have more rain, but hopefully it won't be too heavy.

We're dealing with high winds today. No rain or storms. Just wind, and lots of it! I've had to tie up some plants to keep them from breaking in the wind (particularly my young potted palms). This is so unusual for this time of year here. It's usually HOT and dry, with only an occasional light breeze at this time of year. This has been a really weird spring so far.

joolz - hope everything is okay. Last year we had bad winds - called microburst that went through. I too had to tie up the taller banana bushes or they might have been broken.
Good news is they did cut down the % of storm severity, bad news still are calling for rains Sun/Mon and possible scattered ones on Sat...
Husband and son put i a couple new fence posts and moved the line to where some trees can now help hold up the line if we flood again.
Did a bit of weeding with hoe in gardens - weeds sprout and grow quickly with rain/heat/rain... was going to pull some more grass, but onion patch was too wet and pulled up a couple of onions - so said nope - gonna wait.
