JANUARY 2002
JANUARY SEISMIC WINDOW
The Seismic Window of January 26-February 2, 2002 marks the first change in six months for the assignment of the primary window.

Starting now and through the June lunar eclipse, my predictive window will be associated with the full Moon, because the monthly tidal ranges will be greater at that cycle.

On January 28th the Moon will be full, just two 34 hrs before the close Earth-Moon perigee of 223,558 miles. This combination will produce Golden Gate tidal ranges of 8.4 feet on January 28-29, the greatest since last July, at the time of a 7.0M quake in the Aegean Sea.

Based upon these factors, I am predicting for the January 26-February 2, 2002 Seismic Window the following earthquakes (with an 80% confidence):

1) A 3.5-6.0M quake within 140 miles (2-degrees) of Mt. Diablo in the East Bay.
2) A 3.5-6.0M quake within 140 miles of Los Angeles
3) A 3.0-5.5M quake within 140 miles of Seattle, Oregon
4) A major (7+M) quake globally, probably in the Pacific Ring of Fire.

Jeri--
Somewhere back in the archives - I think I also said there should be some 7+ between mid jan to mid feb -- pacific rim - though I felt there were likely to be 3 with 5.5 or greater alont pacific rim area...

volcano's are making enough mess to precipitate even more quakes in mediterranean basin area (land masses that run around that rim)

I feel one building up, just to make a forecast, I'll say a 5.5 in southern, ca.. around the 28/29th of Jan.
Hopefully in the desert, non populated area..
Just Jack rabbits.. and they like the ride.....

Well...guess what kids! Yesturday, we had a small shaker here in the Puget sound area. Pierce county(south of Seattle) experienced a 2.9 rumble. Not much to write about but, add that to all the others...a sign of things to come?

ElKamino - tis usual for this time period - that is to say many quakes are happening in the Dec/Jan/Feb time slots (going back through some history of these shows spikes)

Jeri - ya not so sure if its CA or not - but could very well be. Kinda difficult for someone in middle of USA to pinpoint the exact locations, but at least "I" try...

Cherry - here's a link to our Year 2002 predictions. It's in the Live Archive thread:
Fantastic Forum 2002 Predictions

You did mention quakes in the pacific rim and of magnitude of at least 6+ - there's more....

Linnea - thanks -- thought I had done so, and as noted the other post must have been lost in THAT time period shuffle...

the way my head was acting this morning -am beginning to wonder... noted the japan quake earlier this month was originally called a 6+ - problem is some of the original 6+ are later changed...usually to some lesser figure.

Not a pre-shock, I hope. Seems to be more and more all the time. I did not like being in that 6.9 here in Seattle - about this time last year! I think Feb 26th? Unreal when the earth shakes.

Cherry -

We won't hold you to the exact magnitude - as long as you are in the ballpark. We'll give you a ding!

Mercalli Scale? ...Richter?

BTW - Earthquakes have nothing at all to do with weather or climate!
And the narrowest hinge in my hand puts to scorn all machinery,
And the cow crunching with depress'd head surpasses any statue,
And a mouse is miracle enough to stagger sextillions of infidels.

Ah, but Snorrithor- your proof?
What about the cosmic climate? Gravitational forces of the planets, other space entities? Planet X! ???
All things are interconnected. There is no 'empty space'.

Inquiring minds want to know - to be open to the vast universe - and search out and speculate upon the mysteries of the universe...

You can relax a little - have fun, perhaps?
I hope so - really do.

Earthquakes can be triggered by solar flares which do have an effect upon our weather patterns. Grab that slinky toy, its the perfect tool for illustrating the magnetics of this planet.
We can sympathize with a child who is afraid of the dark, but the real tragedy of life is that most people are afraid of the light.
