I've been watching the news, and they mentioned it was now dark in China... I suppose you are about ten hours ahead of Pacific Coast time, U.S., or behind... I should find the time zones.

I am glad you are safe Janus... Always be prepared.

I was very sorry to hear the center of the quake was where the Giant Panda's have their reserve. I hope we didn't lose them too.
Many, many people are in great peril as I write.
I pray for their quick rescue.

In the last ten days, Burma, weather. 1000 tornado's in the mid west and east. Fires in Fla., and now this... 7.8'
I believe the Quickening is up on us and bearing down.

Very sad, indeed. Glad you are safe, Janus. There is something building. My daughter came back from China (for work) last weeke after spending five days there, she was in Bejing. She called this morning on her way to work to tell me she had a dream that she was in Alaska and they had a huge earthquake, she was lead to safety by a wolf and to tell me where her cat carrier was in her house in case she couldn't get back tonight because she "had a bad feeling". I looked, Alaska has been rocking and rolling continuingly all day. The Ring of Fire is alive and wide awake.

Horrible tragedies all over the World, my heart and prayers go out to everyone effected........this quake has been upgraded to 7.9 since reported as 7.8, it seems the Quickening is upon us. Stay safe Janus.

Waverider, I pray that Stan Deyo is wrong.......the Hayward and San Andreas faults pretty much cover most of California. The Hayward fault in the Bay Area is so built up, Cal State Hayward, many Hospitals, this could be devastating as the population is dense, in downtown Hayward on B Street the pavement is very uneven because of that fault, repairing it has had no effect.

Jim Berkland used to talk about how strange animals behaved before an earthquake, some by running away. He said if you notice many dogs and cats disappearing something is up, if memory serves up to two weeks before a quake.

The animals are probably still acting nervous and scared because large quakes between 5.0 and 6.0+ have been almost continuous throughout the region since the big one.

This is an interesting article about the toads, I think they felt the earth stress before the quake.

Janus, we hear about the quake on the news, and the rescue efforts on CNN and other news sources, as the reports come in.

This is a world shaking event.
