Gulf Stream "Off Tract"

Post by Psychicwolf » 02-08-2010 11:39 AM

Think this could have something to do with all the East Coast snow? Wasn't this the setup in Art's book?

Freak Current takes Gulf Stream to Greenland:

psychicwolf -- good question - but I look at the jet stream - the high and low systems, El Nino, La Nina and of course the seasonal changes.

Was reading that DC has not been hit this hard since 1922... long time yes.

Here in the middle of lower 48 - we've been hit with systems as well - some say they have not been this bad since 20-30 yrs ago (depending on the area).

BTW - storm that went through middle USA - is headed again to DC - gulf coast areas...not sure if the current one (happening today) will do the same, but looking at the Intellicast current then look at surface across USA -- yup this system is deadheading east - so they will get more of it....east coast.

Yes, it was. It's also what happens in the film based on the book. The Gulf Stream moves.

Maybe that's partly to blame for the execrable weather we're having here. They are now threatening us with 10-20 more inches of snow from Tuesday into Wednesday. Lord help us.
