Hermine made landfall as a strong TS.
Going all the way up to Iowa as a TD!

Hey Linda!

Been watching The Wx Channel, seeing all the damage in Texas from the still well-defined Hermine. Let's hope the areas it visits northward need the rain.

From the eastward turn of the storm, it looks like your Mum will get some tropical "precipitation."

There are two "blobs" (I use the scientific term, here), with 20% / 10% chances of cyclonic formation. But then there's that "vigorous tropical wave" pushing off the Sahara with a 40% chance of formation.

Courage, my friends!

My cousin in Killeen Tx just sent a tweet that their house is flooded out. I have kids in the Dallas area and news just said "major flooding in that area". My family and friends in Lakeway Tx a suberb of Austin are okay. It is dry as a bone here in Arizona...send some moisture our way!!

Saharaka -- what a report! The Wx Channel was on the scene again today and the flooding was really awful.

I hope your kids check in and are doing fine. One-liners on Twitter that your cousin's house is flooded leaves a lot to the imagination! Please let us know how everyone is fairing as soon as you hear more.

Thanks so much for posting this info.

Saharaka, I am sorry to hear about your family. Please keep us updated.

I think Jon Marcus is around that area as well, I wonder how he is doing.

Joanie, going to have to keep our eyes on this one, don't you feel like your playing Russian roulette every season ? And I hate the fact that I pray we don't get hit but I feel guilty I may be sending them another direction to cause damage.

Oh goodness, Linda -- you're not Pat Robertson, by any means, with that passive aggressive spooky stuff going on!

The only thing we can do is take care of ourselves. Nature will do what nature will do (unless the govt. steps in with those seed drops or whatever it the conspiracy is!).

It looks like Igor will be a TS by Monday but some models show it turning north in the middle of the Atlantic. But yes, we do need to be wary of this one -- once again, one that has started WAY too far East....

The restoration people are already working on my cousins home. She was lucky...they have flood insurance. They have to live on the second floor for the time being. She said the worst thing they are dealing with is the odor from the chemicals that are being used to inhibit the growth of mold and organisms. If Jon Marcus is still in the area he lived in Round Rock and I understand they got hit pretty hard!!

Hey Saharaka,

So glad your cousin got help so quickly -- they must have a good insurance company. Maybe you can coax them to think about staying someplace else in the interim. Those fumes must be really unhealthy.

Hope everything gets back to normal soon.
