Driving in Weather

I don't know if you can see this if you're not a Facebook user, but the video is sure an example of why winter weather deserves attention when driving.

That video is a lesson for all of us living where the white snow meets the road and at times everything above the black rubber (tires) leaves the road! I'd seen that video many times voguy and it will stick in your head along with other pile up videos like it.

Just think of the rage coming from drivers if the states and the fed had two speed limit signs for us to heed. One for good weather (when most wrecks occur) and a lower speed limit sign for fog, ice, & snow. A lot of fog prone areas do show stepped down speed limits. That works fine if ALL motorists step off their gas pedals! REF my second sentence and the last sentence: That ain't gonna happen!

Back in the sixties Illinois had cool signs that would read during the day 65 mph and by your headlights at night 55 mph via the same sign . If any FF members from Illinois who drove there years ago arrive here. Please correct me if I'm wrong about the switchable sign's exact mph X 2.

On second thought the two different speed limits may have been just for large trucks. At 16-18 years old that's what I drove mostly in that neighboring state.

And in some states they are raising limits. I-75 went from 65 to 70, and there is talk about 75 in some "rural areas" once the highway is widened from Dayton to Toledo.
