Morn'in Riddick, :o

I'd hoped for at least a mention of this March 18, 1925 Midwest America weather event in the FULL STORY.

So we can mention it here, The Great Tri-State Tornado :!:

If there were any biggest or longest track records to set, it sadly set'em!

:raspberry From Wikipedia...........

The Tri-State Tornado of Wednesday, March 18, 1925 was the deadliest tornado in U.S. history.[3] It was also the most exceptional tornado during a major outbreak of at least twelve known significant tornadoes spanning a large portion of the Midwestern and Southern U.S. The tornado alone inflicted 695 fatalities,[4] more than twice as many as the second deadliest, the Great Natchez Tornado of 1840. The 151 to 235 mi (243 to 378 km) track left by the tornado was the longest ever recorded in the world as it crossed from southeastern Missouri, through southern Illinois, then into southwestern Indiana.[5] Although not officially rated by NOAA, it is recognized by most experts (such as Tom Grazulis[6] and Ted Fujita[7]) as an F5 tornado, the maximum damage rating issued on the Fujita scale.[8]

Snip-it: Almost every structure in Gorham, IL was leveled or swept away, and railroad tracks were reportedly ripped from the ground! :o

Here's the FULL STORY of our small Indiana town being "just clipped" as it passed by and what was erected on it's 1925 path many years later in 2003!
