The Excalibur now has her full crew compliment. We have run a check of all systems. Everything is online and all departments have checked in.
Our orders are to proceed directly to Space Station Deep Space Nine to conduct an investigation into the disappearance of Captain Benjamin Sisko. All moorings have disengaged and we are now free and clear to navigate.
"Aft thrusters, Mr. Sexton."
"Aye, sir. Aft thrusters."
"Incoming message from the U.S.S. Enterprise, sir", said Lieutenant DoctorWho.
"On speakers."
"Captain, I just wanted to wish you well on your maiden voyage. You've got a fine ship and crew, so I know you'll do well."
"Thank you, Jean-Luc. Thanks for the recommendations and good wishes. Take care."
"Captain", said LC Sexton", "we are clear of Space Dock and ready to depart."
"Very good, Mr. Sexton. Ensign Nightvoice, set course of Bajor, Warp Factor 3."
"Aye sir. Course and speed set."
"Engage!"
(Author's note: This is an interactive story, so if you would like to add anything, go right ahead. Let's see what we can come up with.)

Okay, I was making a reference to what Admiral Kirk called Lt. Saavik. Saavik was clearly a female, too, but for some reason he said "Mr."<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by jeri sexton:

Push the third button from the top on the right hand panel, three buttons over from the round thing with the cross looking thing on it.<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by jeri sexton:

(Walks over to the Helm and presses the appropriate buttons)
You've got to learn how and why things work on a Starship. Sure you can come along for the ride. Hell, with a......never mind.

Ops reporting in, Sir.
All in working order. Section crew assignments have been made and all positions are filled.
What's your pleasure, sir?
On a personal note, my thanks to the captain for expediting the re-routing of my gear. Perhaps the captain would honor my invitation to sample my Veruvian Acra during a game of chess.
Ensign Night_voice
Ops
Pardon the familiarity, sir. On the USS D, I was a Lt. Cdmr and bridge complement. It will take me a while to re-adjust.

There must be a glitch in the computer. When it brought up your records, it listed you as Ensign. (Mumble, gruble)<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by eliza_nightvoice:

T'Lar, when was the last time we had the main computer overhauled? I'll get to the bottom of this. Meanwhile, I'll check with Captain Picard about your record in regard to rank, etc. After we get that cleared up and get under way, THEN I'll take you up on your invitation. Until then, as you were.
Captain's Log. Stardate: 21145.9
My Science Officer has run a diagnostic on the main computer and has indeed found some discrepencies. After running another check of all systems, everything seems to be functioning within normal parameters now.

I've gone down to Sickbay to have the Doctor check me out beccause of this headache I've been having. He ran a couple of scans on me and gave me something for the pain which made me very high.
I should be getting my Star Trek Encyclopedia and Deep Space Explorer in a few days. I can't wait. I'm also going to be getting a new Hard Drive soon. I need one since I'm running out of space on the old one.

Number One reporting to the bridge, Captain. I have the helm while you are in 'flying' in sick bay - Chief Morale Officer Maryals will be along shortly - to see what comforts might be arranged for you.
We have been studing the star charts and planning our mission, as ordered, sir - and hope you will soon be able to rejoin us at the bridge.
Peace

I am still confined to Quarters with this illness....whatever it is. I think it's a migrane. Bryan thinks it's a sinus infection. Mom thinks it's the flu. I think it stinks and I cqan't wait to get over this illness and back to the Bridge. Get well wishes from the crew and assorted friends have been comforting. I'm going to go see a normal Doctor tomorrow and try and get this illness pinned down.

Capt'n,
Yeah, the ER docs are good to rule out major things, but don't rate too well on long-term care. Not their job.
A major sinus infection should have showed up on the CAT and MRI, unless no one looked at the ole' sinus cavities when they were reading the images. After all a sinus infection isn't a "glamorous" as a blood vessel about to go "pop."
Here's to some good sluething by your regular doc and a speedy answer and quick full recovery.
