Question for George re:Tanya Roberts
Moderator: Super Moderators
It's just so crazzzzzzzzzy
The most bizzare thing about that comercial to me is the idiocy of who ever scripted it, to believe for one moment that anyone with an ounce of intelligence would think that Tanya and George were old buddies, just catching up in front of 50,000 people.....
Ridiculous....the whole converstation reminds me of a cheap porno, all I'm waiting for is someone to say......can I pay you in any other way?

Tahiti Village
At the bottom of the page notice this:
SPONSORED BY CONSOLIDATED RESORTS, INC., 801 S. RAMPART BLVD., SUITE 200, LAS VEGAS, NV 89145, AS SALES AGENT FOR THE TIMESHARE DEVELOPER SOLEIL, LV, LLC. THE PURPOSE OF THIS OFFER IS TO SELL DEEDED TIMESHARE INTERESTS IN THE STATE OF NEVADA. THE COMPLETE TERMS ARE IN AN OFFERING PLAN AVAILABLE FROM THE DEVELOPER.
This is nothing more than a timeshare offer, as I have not listened to M-F in sometime, but I do remember this terrible commercial, if memory serves me correctly, at no time in the commercial is this mentioned on C2C.
If you dig deeper you will see this:
Accommodations are for two adults and two children at a participating hotel located directly on the Las Vegas strip. You cannot have used this offer, or a similar mini-vacation offer from Consolidated Resorts Inc., within the past six months, and group travel is not permitted. Offer is based on availability and is nontransferable. Participants must have a valid ID and a major credit card including a valid driver's license. Failure to attend the presentation will result in a charge of the full retail value of the getaway (approximately $500). All gifts are issued upon completion of your 120 minute timeshare presentation. $100 dining certificate will only be accepted at participating hotels. None of the offered incentives are redeemable for cash. Any changes or cancellations made less than 14 days prior to check-in will result in a charge of one night's stay. Participants are responsible for payment of any govt.-imposed taxes directly related to the services provided, any personal expenses incurred, and any hotel telephone or energy surcharge. Consolidated Resorts and its affiliates do not assume any responsibility for injury, damage, loss, accident or irregularity, liability or expense to person(s) or property in transit to/from, or while staying in, Las Vegas, including acts beyond its control. Consolidated Resorts and its affiliates are not responsible for any alterations or representations that are not stipulated within this written offer. Tahiti Village has been qualified for sale in the state of Nevada and is not available for sale in those states where registration requirements have not been fulfilled. This is not an offer to sell, or solicitation of an offer to buy, to any residents of any state in which registration has not been completed.
Notice the words "particpating hotels", do not believe for one moment you will be staying at this resort, you will stay at a hotel near the resort or maybe even not near the resort. Also your "120 timeshare presentation" will very likely last much longer, also, I would be very surprised if this is not an offer that requires you to be qualified (certain income and other specifics).
The reason you must have a major credit card is because this is all about selling you something and the major credit card has nothing to do with verifying who you are.
Just another timeshare promotion disquised as a vacation offer..

I've been to one of those timeshare thingees. If you sign up you're committed to go to their "presentation." If you don't they charge your credit card the full price of whatever so-called comps they offered.Shirley2006 wrote: A timeshare! Jeesh!
Their presentation aint no picnic either. You're virtually held hostage for an entire day while they grill you with in-yer-face high pressure sales pitches. They use enough psychological mind tricks to make a Chinese torture expert blush.
Think Alex in that scene in A Clockwork Orange undergoing the Ludovico technique and the film montage the character played by Warren Beatty is bombarded with by the Parallax Corporation in the Parallax View.

Or how about Ned Beatty in "Deliverance"?
npimh: "Ned Beatty Had the Hardest Part", to the tune of Tom Petty's "The Waiting is the Hardest Part".
Timeshare?? I thought is was a honeymoon getaway hotel thingy. Okay, now this goes beyond funny to (with Shirley) I am furious. Each time I hear that d*** commercial I am turning it off. Well to be honest I never have GN show on much anyway anymore. Anyone know the schedule this week? Anything good?? I never bother to look I get so disgusted.

You've got that right. A friend of mine and his wife were held hostage for one of these free weekend "guest" packages and the high pressure continued long after they came back home. I think these "timeshare" spokesmen come from a hiring pool of use car sales people and Guantanamo Bay prison interrogators.
As for the husky voice peddling Tahiti Village, here is a link:
