Boring and or Balderdash....
Years ago I enjoyed listening to Art Bell late at night
on the radio because he had programs where he and
guests talked about UFOs, Crop Circles,Area 51 and
other mysterious subjects. Sometimes if Art did not
go along with everything that was said by the guest,he
spoke up and said so. If a story told was a bit too
weird to believe, Art let the guest speak but made it
clear even if the person believed what he was telling,
Art was not 100% sure it was the truth.
As Art became the weekend host of "Coast to Coast AM"
and several other hosts took over, things seemed to
change. Stories told by authors from their latest books
were never or hardly ever challenged by these new hosts.
One guest spoke of a machine on the Moon; that he
called a "Soul Catcher". Another told about the times he
was abducted by alien beings (who look just like us), and
was taken to a huge space ship where he and a room
full of other people were shown on TV sets that WE ARE
DESTROYING THE EARTH ! Another guest told about
how he had flown to the planet JUPITER on an alien space-
ship a few times and it was very exciting and being on
planet Jupiter made a person feel full of energy!
Last night a woman author told how it was possible to keep
from being abducted by alien beings and that creatures that
are known as "Jinn" live in caves and are responsible for
giving false beliefs to Islamic nations. The host :Ian Punnett
seemed like he did not buy the "Jinn living in caves" but he
never said it plainly.
If the schedule is correct, a guest will discuss "Cities and
mining operations on the Moon" next Wednesday night.
I still think that Premier Radio or who ever is in change
of Coast to Coast should hire Linda Moulton Howe as
the Co-host along with Art Bell for future programs. IF she
and Art had a bunch of "nonsense" on their shows, they might
let us know what they think even if they did not believe the
guest 100%.

Um. Wait a minute. You don't remember hearing the Mel's Hole story? What about the frozen alien burrito? Those were shows that ART hosted, several times. And many more that were very similar. I don't see what "change" you refer to.Bob73 wrote: As Art became the weekend host of "Coast to Coast AM"

Seems like these days Ian is the one most likely to challenge or express skepticism towards a guest or caller. He's sometimes pretty blatant about it too. Now, Art did say it was going to take him a little while to get back in the saddle and I'm willing to give him of all people the benefit of the doubt. GN, on the other hand is...
Oh, never mind...

Regarding Art's show last night, I thought he was going to throw the guests off the air for having such lousy pictures of alien things flying around LA on the C2C website. In fact, he complained about a hum on the phone line (which I couldn't hear) and warned the guests the show might be cut short. I'm not sure if it was or not.
Art is very skeptical these days, and doesn't seem to have a lot of patience with some guests. He's almost mean to some of them. Perhaps there should be a middle ground between the Art of today and George.

I can't be sure where Art's irritation was coming from last night, maybe a combination of the phone line, he was the one hearing it and that can be very irritating and I have a feeling that it wasn't the pictures as much as the fact that the guests said they were evoking the presence of these ships, I have a problem with that also, but hey what do I know. Can't have it both ways, you want guests to be challenged and when they are you don't like it, this isn't addressed to anyone in particular. He still does the best interview out there in radio today.
Art's been a stickler for the phone line's sound quality ever since I started listening to him back in 2000. It's a difficult one... it never makes for good radio when too much time is taken up complaining about technical difficulties. To me it's never a show of 'good form' when a performer dwells on technical difficulties, i.e., "the show must go on" and so forth. Once or twice I've heard GN take up waaaay too much air time complaining about phone noise (which wasn't apparent in the broadcast). Couldn't help but feel it was nothing more than parroting tho. When Art is working alone as the personality as well as the engineer and producer (or working in the blind even though he's got remote technicians to deal with problems), it's understandable (to an extent) that he'd take up air time to complain about it. But when you work with a team of engineers and producers as does GN, there's no excuse for going on and on about phone problems -- that's the job of the engineers to sort out.
Prem Rad is working Coast-to-Coast right into the dirt. But then, what else is new? Everything begins to die once it becomes a "marketable capitalist commodity"? Everything!
Don't agree, huh? Well, how do you know that you are nothing more than a "marketable capitalist commodity" that has already been worked right down into the dirt, huh? When was the last time you checked, huh?
