sleep - wake paralysis

two months before my daughter passed I experienced something strange. I was sleeping ...then somehow I felt awake and knew I was somewhere in between sleep and a wake state. I coud not move and it was eerie at best. The bad part about it was I felt I was not alone! That somone or something was very near!
I have never in my life have had anything so disturbing happen to me. Has anyone ever heard of this?
any thoughts or links I can use to find more answers?

Hi Penny, I have experienced sleep paralysis off and on all my life ,I do have a theory, but really hate the idea of being locked up somewhere!:eek: I think you will find that most have experienced this at one time or another. And at 1st I did find it really un-nerving! Hopefully you can take some comfort in not being ALONE in the experience.

Thank You One and all ! I missed so much since my absence and can't ait ti dig in my heels on this forum.....I will go and investigate this sleep paralysisi thing.....it was so strange and it
affected me for a long time! alas! i shall prevail and find answers!
