BAFFLED! Looks Amazing & Terrible, All In One.



In this 1973 TV movie pilot for an ongoing occult-paranormal detective series, race car driver Tom Kovack (Lenoard Nimoy) gains psychic powers in the wake of a crash. He partners with paranormal researcher Michele Brent (Susan Hampshire), who believes his visions of the future are true.

The supernatural theme is awesome, but the acting? Terrible! Still, it's so earnest. Seeing Nimoy try to work his game with lines like, "You're a great lookin' chick, so maybe we'll see each other" is mortifying fun.

The rest is a montage of every '70s trope ever-—the slow-motion running, the overuse of zooms, sawing at the wheel of obviously stationary cars, turtlenecks, collars you could hang-glide with... it's all here:



Such a pity the world never got to see this on a weekly basis, eh?
