Shatner is revered like the diety he is in Canada. McGill, one of Canada's oldest universities and Shatner's alma mater, named their students union building after him. Recently, they had to raise funds to fix Shatner. James Doohan is also Canadian, so we've really done our part for Starfleet.

As noted in another thread, we recently gave you Evangeline Lilly, although she is at least playing a Canadian character on Lost. We never fully appreciated her here, resigning her to doing telepersonals ads.

This is the sad fact of Canada. We only really appreciate what we've got after other countries notice it. Like our fresh water and clean air. We didn't really care about that stuff until the US got interested in it.

And Rush. I'm endlessly fascinated that women in the States like Rush. They're a total dealbreaker in relationships here. Guys have to toss their Rush albums when their girlfriends move in. I've had to re-purchase 2112 a couple times now.

I keep a couple of 2112 CD's stashed away in case these kinds of situations arise.

Isn't Rush's Moving Pictures considered by most to be an essential desert island cd?

MP is their watershed moment and many would argue the finest album ever produced by a Canadian band. Two albums inspired me to want to be a guitar player, one was Night at the Opera and the other was 2112.

Now I know what Celine Dion and William SHATner have in common!:D

Well, when you come to Mexico, take the beautiful toll roads and stay off the road at night and you will have no problems.

I've lived here since '77 and the only time I got sick was when I picked a bunch of crabs off the sand and fixed them myself. That was in '78.

It's a great country and if you really miss the US you can stop in Monterrey and shop at the Body Shop and Old Navy and eat at Denny's. But the nice part is that you don't have to....
You don't have to believe everything that you think...
