Additional info:
Number 11 - Chocolate also damages cats' livers and kidneys.
Number 13 - Lipsticks (usually only imported ones) also contain very high levels of lead. Some of the other imported (usually cheap) cosmetics do, as well.
And, as an added note: Imported chocolate is only allowed to have 4 rat feces per square inch, as opposed to Domestic made chocolate which can have up to 17.
You can enjoy your Hershey Bars now!:D

Sorry.
The first puppy my husband and I adopted, two weeks after we were married, was a glorious Collie-Shepherd mix we named Sam. One lovely winter afternoon we took him to a Reservation for a nice, long walk.
On the way home, we stopped at a grocery store to pick up a few items and left Sam in the car. When we returned, less than 15 minutes later, Sam had been very busy, He had ripped out all the wires under the dashboard in an effort to dig his way out and, failing that, had pawed open the glove compartment which contained a large bag of Hershey Kisses. He had consumed all of the chocolate, discarding some of the tinfoil.
The wires could be fixed but I was terrified that our beautiful boy was going to die. Nothing happened. Subsequent tests by the Vet turned out fine. Sam lived a long and happy life.
I still am very careful to keep chocolate away from dogs but I'm not sure I believe it's as dangerous as they say.

My little dog Casey, stole and ate 2 boxes of chocolates that were laying, wrapped under the Christmas tree. Nothing happened other than the seratonin levels in his brain probably hit an all time high and made him an extra happy little doggie for awhile.

Well, not exactly. The product was a radio for a car. There were plenty of car radios on the market but you couldn't hear them with the car running because of the ignition noise. My father, William P. Lear, Sr. was half owner of the company which became Motorola (the other half was owned by Paul Galvin) invented the "B" battery eliminator which let you play the radio with the car running with no ignition noise. Its true they came up with the name Motorola as a combination of Motor (from motorcar) and Victrola. My father sold his half of Motorola to form Lear, Inc. in 1930. He sold Lear, Inc. in 1958 to Sielgler Corp. and it became Lear Siegler. He then formed Lear Jet Corporation which produced the Lear Jet. Lear Jet Corp. was sold to Gates Rubber in 1968 who held it for about 10 years. It went through several other owners and is now held by Bombardier but is still called the Lear Jet..

Well why a few were not quite "right on" they provided a fun read -- something everyone needs to ease the tensions of the day...
Thanks for posting - think the list I received email was a bit longer.... but these were fun.

PS: BTW they make a chocolate doggie treat - though I am not sure that they don't use a chocolate substitute. My dogs have eaten chocolate over the years - didn't seem to bother them either...

I agree. It was a fun read. Some I already knew and some I didn't. I used to give our family dog chocolate occasionally and it never bothered her. I also used to give her the imitation ones made specially for dogs. That dog liked almost anything, especially carrots. They were like candy to her. She also loved spagetti. But when I got a dog of my own, she couldn't eat spagetti. I found that out the hard way when I was visiting a freind's place and the poor dog threw it up all over. Never gave it to her again.Cherry Kelly wrote: Well why a few were not quite "right on" they provided a fun read -- something everyone needs to ease the tensions of the day...
