As has been the case after work, I'm here inside the local Taco Bell that has expletive-laden rap music from some unidentified YouTube channel that the employees like piped into the dining area...
It's close to closing time, I'm the only customer here, and it's really not the worst stuff I've ever heard so I don't complain about it, but at the same time I really don't see the attraction either!

I still love ROCK & ROLL! Ain't nothing better than that to soothe my soul!!! But I cut my teenage teeth on it, and it drove my great grandma CRAZY, so of course I'd still have to like it! I love show tunes, movie themes, I'm a big Sinatra fan, Bennet Fan, and like Streisand, along with a few country songs staged in between, here 'n' there. Donna Summers, too.
Did any of you see the new Meryl Streep movie, "RIKKI & THE FLASH?" Talk about R&R - brought back a lot of memories for me. I could have ended up as RIKKI if I hadn't cut my losses when I did, and given up the nightlife for a full-time, nice-paying day job I always HATED...
I wrote music and sang at one time. If our bandleader hadn't been a total F-U and a drunk, I'd have stayed in that life, because I've always loved to be in the spotlight... Go figure.
As for now? I spend a lot of time dropping tears in my champagne about what might have been... if my parents had loved me; if my great grandma had loved me; if I'd have never seen my mom again after she deserted me... you know, the typical things.
But at least I never got into the drug scene, and never became a drunk. I had a good mind for business and corporate things - just never enjoyed doing it for 40 years.
I would rather have stayed at home and written scripts, books, short stories, etc. Now I can barely sit at a computer for more than 20 minutes, and I can't breathe well, anymore. Too much of the "good life" in my early years, I guess. But overall, it was the life I preferred. And if I'd have died younger, I wouldn't be suffering so much now.
Regrets? Yeah, I have a few. But everything I've done has made me the great person I am now. Life's a trade-off; never forget that!

If you're still breathing, it's not too late!

We all have things we wish could have gone differently, but life is made up of small choices, day-to-day, and you still have plenty of them left. Sharing with us was one, and it made us happier, so that decision was good Nice to see you!
The heartbreaking necessity of lying about reality and the heartbreaking impossibility of lying about it.
