Demand and Petition for the return of Raggedy Ann

Post by Diogenes » 07-30-2013 08:56 PM

Dear RA,

I am making a formal demand that you show up and post and interact with this motley crew.

Your presence and the topics which you choose to research and post are missed. Your posts always elicit much discussion and thought.

This board needs an intelligent, well read, researched, and spirited Socialist such as yourself. In fact you are THE primo resident Socialist and I say that will such fondness.

Besides which just your basic personality is missed and that is that.

Signed most respectfully,

Your rigid, black and white, no BS, Conservative Pal.

Hey there RA,

I missed your departure by a few days, and regret not catching on sooner. While we have agreed and disagreed on the issues just about evenly, I have always held you and your opinions regardless of said agreement in high regard. Your consistency often causes me to stop and think carefully about the issue being discussed. I think your voice is very important here, and I hope that you will return.

We have all been in the position of feeling driven away from this board over the years, and it is a lousy feeling. But do remember that you have friends and fans here, and people that very much hope you go on posting.

Hope to see you soon!

I flounced out angry at the whole damn world...

After a few days to reflect and chat to my friend's Fan and Dio, I've thought things out a bit. And trust me this ain't easy for this addled brain that spends most of its waking time in the abyss. It's a known fact that our brains shut down every 20 minutes for a few seconds. Mine does the opposite, it kicks in every 20 minutes for a few seconds.

It meant a helluva lot to me that Fan trusted and thought enough of me to suggest I be a mod. I can't thank you enough Fan, and the rest of our mod team! But I found that I wasn't comfortable with it. I can't really explain it other than to say that I like working for the queen bee, not being one. Not that lady mods are queens as such, just using this analogy for lack of finding a better one.

So when I am doing something I discover just ain't me, I generally head down the road to self destruction. It's far better than changing things in a fashion that would have been less complicated and less painful for everybody else who had to read my snarky comments here, there and everywhere. I'm Cancer the Crab. We walk sideways.

As if I could ever miss all the Art fun that's going on here. Obviously I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue. :D

Thanks you guys for your kind words! They mean an awful lot to me. :notworthy

To be more specific, my unpleasant discord with another mod here was a really stupid way to act. So my apologies to everybody and especially to Fan. :(
