Inviting Disaster

No, I don't want to go! But, If One Day I ever do contemplate suicide 1. For a Really Verifiable Reason. 2. I will NOT demand that everybody go with me!
Well, he didn't make it a demand, though when I suggested to my friend that we can't just put fossil fuel companies out of business tomorrow his reply was, "Yes We Can!" (Hmm, that sounds awful familiar. Where have we heard THAT before, eh?) -

Now, I wouldn't say my friend's contemplating suicide, but he's also not necessarily concerned what may happen to himself or everybody else. Then again, he's always been something of a nihilist AND anarchist. You might call him a complex individual

Boil it all down, he's not so much into the planet saving aspect as invested in chaos. Just as it is, I can't see he's uniquely entertained by the idea of tearing it all down... & how does THAT serve the common good? Mebbe Pope Francis could enlighten us.

We now know for sure that the Popes God is Left Wing New World Order. Financing an Invasion.
Why didn't the Pope send the money to them to help them stay in their own homes in their own Countries?

Pope sends aid to migrants stranded at the US border

Thousands of Central American migrants in Mexico are in need of assistance.

Pope Francis has donated 500,000 dollars to assist migrants in Mexico. The funds, from the Peter’s Pence collections, will be distributed among 27 projects promoted by sixteen Mexican dioceses and religious congregations, which requested assistance in continuing to provide food, lodging, and basic necessities to the migrants.

US border closed

According to a statement from Peter’s Pence, “In recent months, thousands of migrants have arrived in Mexico, having travelled more than 4,000 kilometres on foot and with makeshift vehicles from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala. Men and women, often with young children, flee poverty and violence, hoping for a better future in the United States. However, the US border remains closed to them.”

Tim Ballard: I've fought sex trafficking at the border. This is why we need a wall

By Tim Ballard

For the Deseret News

Critics have recently rejected the idea that building, expanding or strengthening a barrier or “wall” along our southern border would do anything to combat sex trafficking. Though many of these critics do noble work in various capacities, even in the human trafficking space, they all have one thing in common: they have never utilized the wall to rescue sex trafficking victims and therefore they do not understand its power for good, its power to rescue trafficked children.

And as we all know, more than anything else (aside killing the fossil fuel industry and throwing the economy into chaos, ASAP), what our country desperately needs is a fresh, steady, ample and exploitable supply of new victims -

The wind turbines are located off shore, as well as some on-land. Here's the thing - you go off shore few miles and in many cases, all there is, is wind. From the Florida coast to the Gulf of Maine, it is a HUG untapped, renewable clean resource that dwarfs the combined assets of OPEC.

And, unlike solar, don't need daylight, although solar is a nice adjunct

So........How are they going to get it to you Kbot? Use the same old broken grid we have now?!

You might try and read up on it a bit, and see how healthy and "easy peasy" it going to be, and just how much outa pocket you can afford.

Meanwhile, Back In The Dairy State

Post by Riddick » 04-29-2019 04:11 PM

Ok, so Wisconsin doesn't have expansive out of sight offshore ocean coastal areas. But we do have land. Lots & lots. We can still have huge wind farms. Screw rural folk. We need wind power & we need it NOW -

A few folks have health problems? Thousands and thousands of acres of scarred landscapes? Oh, BOO effn HOO. Here, have a Bernie Beanie propeller cap! And there's lots more free stuff where that came from. Get over it.

With the decommissioning of the power generating plants around here, in addition to people being able to actually breath, resulting in less visits to the local ERs, they've been upgrading the grid for the past few years.

I don't know what's being done in your area Doka, but around here, they're actually doing things instead of just complaining.... I'm seeing upgrade to transmission lines all over the place around here - and over on Cape Cod where Cape Wind is building a wind farm out past Buzzard's Bay, they're finalizing the landing point for the cables to feed into the power grid.

That will also happen here with the decommissioning of this filthy polluting coal-fired generating plant that was spewing hot water into the bay adjacent to the plant resulting in the loss of fish stock. This on act of putting a power plant on a bay deprived people locally and regionally of a food source that had lasted for millennia because the plant raised the level of the water temperature and killed the local fish stocks. Once that happened, the fish left the bay and fishermen had to go out further to make their catch. Since the plant closed, the traditional fish have returned.

The local restaurants are doing great, local food stores are doing well, the bay's clean, people can actually breath and power's being generated at a FAR cheaper rate. Sorry that upsets you Doka..........

So happy to hear that you are living in Energy Utopia, do wish some of that would spread to the West Coast Area. Cheaper power would be a blessing to a lot of people on this side of the country. The Power Companies here are forcing all to install "Smart Meters" and pay for them. Then the power companies can raise the rates, by just pushing a button. They (here any way) bound and determined to get a "Carbon Tax" no matter what they call it!

Clean, fair priced power such as you are enjoying, Never "upsets" me. I must say you are really seeing the results, really fast! How much has you power bill dropped?

"And Everyone Lived Happily Ever After' - All Hail KING WIND (AND Queen Solar)

Post by Riddick » 05-02-2019 03:57 PM

Nice to see how swell wind's working out for you kbot. Success stories are nice. When things all stay that way, that's even nicer. It's far past time too good to be true turns out to be false, eh?

Guess Wisconsin's got too many complainers for that. 'Course migrating birds & bats can't speak for themselves. And let's not forget Chinese villagers living next to toxic lakes. Wait! Yes We Can.

But in the end that's all irrelevant: We'll never reach perfection yet still, IF it'll never get any better than industrial turbines, WHY pursue other alternatives when we've already achieved next thing to energy Acme?

Besides wind (and solar), breakneck speed is what we need. If some necks get broken so be it. Collateral damage? Hey, world saving is a big job and time is short. It's the moral equivalent of war donchaknow

Benevolent intent alone is behind the rush to switch: Rest assured, it's all about climate change and *NOTHING ELSE*! Anyone says different, smile and suggest they stick their head in a bucket of piranha fish.

Here & now, it's the bee's knees, and it needs be pursued everywhere & anywhere; anything less would be uncivilized. GNDers have their say, by edict won't be very long we ALL bow to The Wind/Solar Monarchy.

Wind Vision

Post by Riddick » 05-04-2019 05:59 PM

Ok, folks, for all the critical bluster I've billowed here on various wind power points (see what I did there?), I gotta say I'm more inclined to see the goals & timetables at this energy.gov link as pretty darn reasonable and feasible, compared to the GND -

https://www.energy.gov/eere/wind/maps/wind-vision

35% by 2050? Heck, I'd not call that a killer pace. Gives some breathing room for studies and working to address citizen concerns over health and ecological impacts, as well as R and D in the pursuit of other energy alternatives along side wind & solar

Still, if Democratic Socialist Green Nazis take over the WH & Congress I'd fully expect to see WV updated to reflect their speedy redistributive utopian economy suffocation scheme. A 'Quickie Nirvana'? OH, sure! - IF a royal pain in the sphincter's your thing.
